So how long after death till a ghost pops out?

Mine popped out at midnight. He is now remarried to his poor wife who mourned him for days!

They will be non playable unless you ask them to join your household. Then they will become playable. It works just like any sim that doesn't live in your household.

Hmmm wondering if is has anything to do with fact i used a cheat to kill him or that only person in the house was his enemy

well i give up i cant get ghosts to work...

I know they are in game cause they are popping up on the Gallery

but i cant get any ghosts out of my tomb stone collection
starting to annoy me a little bit... :\

That cheat unfortunately didn't exist in 2014. This discussion was made in October 2014, right after the ghosts were added to the game. The Sims 4 was released on September 2014.
So it could be said that the ghost were starting to bust out of their graves. :D

If you released his spirit to the netherworld, he will not be there anymore.

They don't appear every night. They only come out every so often.
