Some Sims look too bright??

Hello friends!! I'm a little shy so I always get nervous posting on the forums, but this is something that has been bothering me for a while.

I like to make Sims that are all sorts of wild colors instead of human skintones, and when I use lighter/brighter ones (both EA's chalk white Vampire skin tones and CC ones) my Sims look really washed out or almost like they're glowing. This also happens with pets.

I have removed all lighting mods from my game but it doesn't seem to be solving this issue. Does anyone else have the same problem or recommendations to solve it? Mod recommendations would be great as well. Thank you so much.
  • You said you removed all lighting mods, so I'm not sure. I had this issue with the old NoGLo V2. I got the updated NoGlo V2 and I don't have the issue anymore.

Did you delete your cache after removing your lighting mods? Are you using Reshade?

ETA: I'd also say to remove the entire mods folder to load up long enough to test (delete cache), cause we've all done it. A mod get misfiled and end up one hiding in the folder(s) we didn't know it was. So, the first test is always to remove entire mods folder and see if the problem still occurs.
  • That usually happens with the debug lights, try removing them as they tend to lighten up rooms more than what you need.
  • I think I (mostly!) solved it!! It's weird because in some areas my Sims look really bright but in others they look just fine. I'm using my TV headed darling Lettie here as an example. The game seems to mostly have trouble with shades of white, LOL, but I'm going to keep playing with the lights in the house and hopefully I'll figure it out so they always look good. Thank you so much for your help, everyone. I really appreciate it! <3

I haven't deleted my cache yet! I'm not using Reshade either. I'll try everything you mentioned and see how it goes. Thank you so much.

I'm actually not using the debug lights, but I didn't know this so I'll keep it in mind for the future! Thanks for letting me know!
