Of course WA was a vacation pack, just not focused on leisuring. I wonder, does the fact it’s not a vacation world mean that your sim has to go home every night? Or can you spend the night there in some way? I’d prefer the latter myself. A hotel, a tent, is that possible?
Sorry but a "Vaction Pack" would have been more in line of Sims 1 "Vaction" or Sims 2 "Bon Voyage" it's like comparing two apples to a banana.
let us look at the trailer for sims 1 and 2 Vaction EP vs. Sims 3 World Adventures

the Sims 3 is more of an Indian Jones EP then a real "vacation" EP.
Only if one wanted it to be, I used WA as an vacation spot even if it was an adventure EP, different strokes for different folks. I am assuming IL can also be used as an vacation or living spot it is just how one pulls it off. - SimburianNew TravelerI like it being a liveable world and not a vacation spot.
You can go on a visit there from your home world to have a day at the seaside which is what my family used to do. I just wish we could go there by car or coach which we did then! Toddlers and children go swimming and the others can go on conservation tasks and looking for frogs and shells for their collections going home at the end of the day. It suits me as it will cost nothing whereas Vacations cost per day. - Sigzy_29New Spectator

It just seems very confusing/inconsistent to make a game pack with a vacation destination, but then an expansion with another vacation destination, except you can live in it.
Why not just make ONE vacation expansion pack with three very distinct/different destinations, with a hotel system, as well as a purchasable vacation home system? If anything, THEN add extra locations through game packs?
I guess the way things were run in The Sims 2 were just backwards to Maxis now.
They can still dish a vacation EP in the future. This simply isn't a vacation destination. It's a livable world, but on an island setting.
Or at least another GP with a new vacation destination. We are still missing hotels and a honey moon vacation. "JoAnne65;c-17103261" wrote:

, you can put up tents in the Park, edit a community lot beds he isn't like it's a hotel oh, it wouldn't have a check-in desk or your own room AR anything but you can stay the night , or buy a retail lot set up like a house and pretend it's your second vacation property.- MadameleeNew Rookie

not really- unless you wanted to make nectar or explore a museum-the only thinks you could do only once was the adventures- I mean there was NOTHING for kids or toddlers to do at all in World Adventure at least the kids could do something in the Sims 1 vaction and there were actitives for both toddlers AND kids in Sims 2 EP - Lonewolf1044Seasoned Spectator

I never took toddlers or children with my sims when they went to the spots in WA. I liked the vacation packs in Sims 2 and never played it in Sims 1 as my play with Sims 1 was real short as I played Sims 2 when I first loaded it up and never went back to Sims 1. However, thinking about it WA was not the pack to bring toddlers or kids to Vacay but it would work for adults. IP would have been great if the devs took the time to tweak the pack back then as it was more of an devloper issue for me. All in all for me WA was an great pack for me. - MadameleeNew Rookie

look under Sims 3 section people complained that unless your sim was a Indian Jones or a Laura Croft type there was like next for nothing for families to do vs. the two real Vaction EPs did give your sims something to do as a FAMILY-I haven't played Jungle Adventure much-so far but it has better options for a family- then World Adventure ever did. - Lonewolf1044Seasoned Spectator

Even though some people may have not taken thier children WAcould be used for older sims and be be treated as an vacation it was not an pack for children to vacation in which I was okay with. One thing I was grateful for with Sims 3 is the level of customization as I could make my own vacation spots meaning I did not need an vacation pack to have one for the sake of it all. Each version had something that was unique and it held it's own even Sims 3.
