One of my biggest pet peeves is sims automatically cleaning up the dishes once they're finished eating. I try to cancel it every time. The only types of sims that should clean up their dishes automatically are Neat sims and Children that were raised with good manners. For those of you who wonder why this is such a big deal? It's annoying having each individual sim do their own dishes, when I'd much rather ask the kid to do the dishes as chores or have one of the parents do it etc.

Well, at least yours do this only after dinner when they actually have something to wash. My well-mannered Sims keep washing non-existent dishes. Running over to the sink with this "wash dishes" action queued up only for it to disappear once they're at the sink because there are no darn dishes. Few minutes later, same thing. It. Is. So. Annoying.

Interesting thread...For me in real life, my mom taught me to clean my own plate after eating. So it's second nature for me and I don't even consider myself a 'neat' person.My sims have the opposite of the problem most of you guys have. :D My sims won't do the dishes, even when they have the good manners trait. Let's trade sims. LOL!

They only wash up their own dish if idle, unless they have the aforementioned traits.Have another action queued up to do after eating (one they can't multi-task with eating) and they will go do that instead of washing up their plate.

This so much! It was so bad for me that I had to use a mod to stop it!

I clearly do not see anything wrong with this feature and even if the sims4 is a game is the right thing to do me I would chose to let my sims cleanup before doing something else so there is nothing wrong with this feature

i'm in the minority that loves it tbh

in my house we always used to wash what we ate off of right away? so it's just a normal thing to me.. but in college I did have roommates who insisted we'd just let the dishes pile in the sink and then take turns washing them lol. That has always come across as a bit gross to me but I guess a lot of people do that :s

As far as I know, the toilet does get dirty after a few uses unless you upgrade it to self-cleaning. The shower and bathtub too.

This is one of the most annoying things in the game for me. Every single meal time I have to carefully watch my sims when they're eating to cancel their action to clean up. They never seem to learn not to do that. What I do is cancel everyone's action to clean up, and then when they're all finished eating, I get one sim to clean up all the dishes.
