Story Progression Help

Hey, so I got Sims 4 at launch and hated it as there was no real story progression. Recently I have been thinking about trying it out again since there are mods now and I see a lot of the expansions and game packs are on sale right now. But I saw a post about the developers planning on adding in story progression but I can't find any real info out. So what I am asking is what is the basic, no mods, story progression for Sims 4 to date?

  • Still non existent. I've heard the rumors of SP being added but not seen it yet.
  • I remember SimGuruGrant saying they weren't planning to add Story Progression, but they were planning on adding something way better... But it was so long ago, that I think they just scrapped the idea totally.
Anyway, since you mentioned mods, the best for SP is Deaderpool's MCCC. It's not as detailed as the Story Progression mod from Sims 3 Nraas, but it does a good job at it.
  • There is no story progression. However, the MCCC mod adds something like it. Sims will get jobs, get married have children and gave affairs and get divorced. Not true story progression but it makes the game game feel a lot more alive, especially along with Slice of Life, Life Decider, Meaningful Stories and Life's Dramas.

The game didn't really become enjoyable to me until I got MCCC because of the lack of story progression. Now I can also appreciate play without story progression so I switch it off sometimes but I do still usually prefer playing with sp. Really recommend MCCC.

I can't imaging the game being enjoyable anymore without mods like MCCC. I have other mods too ;) I just recently got the school mod, where children can actually go to an elementary school that you build, and teens to a high school. Seriously, these modders should be the people that EA/Maxis hires to make packs.
  • @Admiral8Q Lol well if those modders were actually hired to make the games then I would say they would also be more stable and less prone to glitches too
