I did post once before I felt the first batch, but I created a new sim and gave him a home in Willow Creek. He has never been to stranger Ville. He has never spoken to anyone from stranger Ville. In fact he has never even left his house. But every night as I tried to get him into bed, he suddenly gets the stranger Ville possession moodlet and it lasts for a couple of hours.And now In the same game save I created another brand new sim couple and moved them into windenburg. They also have never been to stranger Ville nor spoken to anyone from there. And yet there are Vines growing in the shower of their windenburg home.Any ideas why this might be happening? I mean I don't hate it, it's not a game breaker for me because I do enjoy the strangers Ville story but I don't think it should be happening. And if it starts in other new game save files as well that will be annoying

I'm glad I read this! I was contemplating buying Strangerville just to see what it was like. Absolutely not if this is happening. I'm a somewhat "realistic" player and I have an imagination of my own. The last thing I want is some weird developer-created storyline insinuating itself in the lives of my sims.

Have you tried to repair your game? I haven’t seen any sign of Strangerville in my game lately. Even the sims living in Strangerville haven’t experienced the vines. Haven’t actively started the story in that save.

The game plays all households at the same time, even when you are only in one active household. So if you have 4 households, they all experience Christmas, even if you are only with Family C during Christmas. It's the same rules for the strangerville mystery. Even though Family B (example) is the one doing the mystery, it is happening in this saves universe, so it will transfer to all sims in the save until the mystery is solved. I knew it affects all families but originally they said it wouldn't spread outside stranger Ville world so i figured all my sims in the world would get vines but not those in Willow Creek and windenburg

Also, even if the vines are because I'm at that point in the story with a different Sim, why would my one newly created Sim be getting possessed? He's never eaten the fruit or seen any spores or anything?

Infected Sims in other worlds I actually would expect because they would've been infected anyway. Traveling wouldn't cure them.

I agree that vines shouldn't be appearing in other worlds, but now realizing that you play rotationally, I can see how it could happen. :/ I don't know if they were taking into account rotational play when they said it wouldn't spread to other worlds. I think they might have been leaning more towards you wouldn't just go into a save in another world and it start happening.

Did your Sim become possessed before you rotated to another household? I would hope even with rotational play, your Sims wouldn't become possessed even while not under your control. That is really messed up. :s

I expect possessed Sims in other worlds, I just didn't expect my own newly-createdsim to be possessed because the Sims have to eat a fruit to become possessed in mine never has. Even my Sims that I completed the stranger Ville storyline with never became possessed except when I purposely gave them fruit. And yes my Sim became possessed as soon as I put him in the game pretty much. He never left his house and I never rotated away

I'm having a new issue with this as well. I've played through the SV storyline a few times and had no recurring problems after defeated the Mother. This time I chose to resurrect her and befriend her, full friendship bar and set the weirdness to the lowest level: some possessed Sims and the bizarre plants in their bud stage. Creeping vines are stage 3 I think (if not then stage 2) but I moved my family to another town and now there are vines in the plumbing. I'm not a fan of them and not happy they've shown up. ?
Being on a PS4 means no mods to fix it. ?

I played through the Strangerville story once and have had my main family living in Strangerville ever since. No plants or weirdness has returned. I don't have a solution for you, unfortunately, but I'll think good thoughts for your plumbing. :)

Oh geez. I was never interested in Strangerville, but I definitely don't want it now. No way, I do not want possessed sims walking around like goofballs in other worlds. I'm usually fine with occults and stuff, but that is too much :D

Just turn Strangerville into a normal town.

One easy way to deal with it, and most obvious way is to finding the source and killing it by doing the storyline.

I don't have strangerville and what i've seen isn't enough to convince me to buy it at any point either, but when you got a pandemic, you got to isolate the outbreak and deal with it or it will start spreading, in the sense of realism plays: it is accurate to expect sims all over to get infected when there are infected sims nearby handling food, chatting, hugging others and so forth when there is nothing to contain it.

So even if i had this pack, i wouldn't consider it outside the realm of possibilities.

They can't spread it by eating or hugging haha. Just by eating the fruit from the mother plant or breathing spores.

But yeah Ive played the story once and am working on the second round of it. I really love this pack. I hope they release more like it in the future. I prefer this style than the occult packs which I don't buy lol cuz I don't want occult in my game haha
