Student marks

Talking in another thread made me think about this again, as this is one of the more frustrating thing in the sims:
I would love that kids and teens marks in school started to matter somehow, in instance A students would have different career opportunities than C. And with this I could mean different access to some levels/Carrers, or seeing your job application be rejected... I don't know. I just feel that marks mean nothing right now cause it doesn't matter how much you've studied, everyone will be accepted in any job. How do we want an education pack if it will be the same ol same ol'?

  • Here's my idea for an education/university pack, your idea and mine is pretty similar

Education Packs: I think they need to add incentives for the graduated sim though, slightly increasing raise for the graduated sim is not a game changing, an ability to progress career level beyond lv 5 could be added for those who attained the degree required for the career, and high school graduate can only go up to lv 5 and doubled the requirements to get promoted to the next career level except A student, and high school graduate need to take an interview and test before they get the job similar to aptitude test for university in sims 3 or audition in get famous so they need to have the required skills before they can get a job, university student on the other hand get a free pass if they have the degree.

But I don't know whether simguru read their own game's forum because it seems they prefer to answer questions or maybe read suggestions on their twitter accounts than here.
  • @izecson yes! That is what i wait for on an education /Uni pack!
Well I don't have a Twitter account so I hope that those who have it can send this ideas to them. Hopefully they have thought about it before, but don't know... Everything that is an actual life changer seems to superficial in Sims 4...
  • I agree to all this!!! I'm actually trying to make sure my less educated sims not climbing to high on the career ladders, but it's of course not easy to keep track on all this. Wish it was controlled by the game, that grades matters! I guess they think that we should be able to tell whatever story we like, say a poorly skilled/graded sim by random luck becoming the mayor of the town. Still, this would still be possible if well skilled sims climbs faster, technically.
  • @Simmerville yes, I also think that they are trying to always keep a black canvas on sims lifes allowing people to tell any story. But for me, this is taking deph on sims. I think that we need consequences. That will make the storytelling more challenging, i think.
  • I agree! Or at least make it way harder for students with low grades to climb up career latters.
  • I agree. Their grades should mean something. Having an influence on their job opportunities would be great.

High school marks do matter a bit for careers -- if you're an A student you start your job at level 3, if you're a B student then level 2. And for children, aging up to Teen with an A grade means starting high school at a B grade. So there is a bit of an advantage.

Not sure what the plans are for an eventual University EP, but it could have features to enhance the education experience.
  • Thanks for the input @stilljustme2. Never noticed this on the game. This actually is something cool.
