Stuff pack focused on bringing back unhinged sims 1 NPC's?
Playing Sims 1 again, I really do enjoy the chaos and difficulty it can bring. Sims 1 still lets you throw the craziest parties and I love it, it's all the quirky NPC's that could make Sims 1 such a surreal experience.
So my suggestion is a stuff pack that focuses on bringing back quite a few of them, along with a menu to turn them on or off so you have some way to increase the difficulty/chaos of the Sims 4. This year seems a great time for it too.
New gameplay stuff and items could be related to these NPC's to not only bring back what they did, but expand on it! Like giving them some interactions with each other too! I feel like this could be really fun for the developers to work on too, let chaos reign! It could interact in new ways with sims 4 things as well. As for who to bring back and how, I have some suggestions:
-Sunny the tragic clown. I know Sims 4 did add townie tragic clowns, but I mean bringing back the original slender one along with the exact same painting that caused him to spawn. The one who will do all kinds of failed tricks to cheer sims up, is often coughing and is a full NPC who will leave by jumping into a hole when your sim is happy again. Or burns to death if his portrait is burned. Or requires the clown catchers to be called to stop by and take care of them with their anti clown gun, taking the painting along too once done after the clown tried to escape.
-Gabby the mime. He will show up when your parties do poorly, making it all a lot worse and refusing to leave as in Sims 1. However there could now also be a part time mime career sims can take on, and sims who have that job could be able to get rid of Gabby through mime in a humorous and surreal way. You could also call the clown catcher, but they would respond that a common mime is not worth their time.
-Frankenstein monster. The chemistry set would be part of the pack, along with all kinds of potions to create, including one that turns a sim into the frankenstein monster which will destroy stuff around the house but can be calmed down by painting if there's an easel available. The transformation would last a few hours, then they go back to normal. Sims could also be able to offer the drink to another sim.
-Frankenmime. Offering the frankenstein drink to Gabby the mime could result in a bigger problem that combines both: As Frankenmime they mime destroying items, and it causes them to be destroyed. They also keep doing mime stuff and might mime slap other sims, who react as if slapped despite there not being contact. Sims with the mime job will lose when trying to mime him away. However the clown catchers could be called to deal with Frankenmime.
-Claire the bear. She could be going through your garbage making a mess, cry over seeing a bear rug and try to interact with bear shaped statues, teddy bears and such. Would also try to steal any honey on the lot that is kept outside, she would not enter houses but might enter gardens. The pack could come with a few bear related items and honey too, so other expansions are not required but could expand on her reactions. When a fire happens while Claire is on the lot, she could put on a park ranger hat and rush in with a fire extinguisher to put out the fire, as a Smokey the bear reference. There could be some ways to scare her off, but it could also be possible to maybe befriend her, leave some honey out for her to take so she leaves your garbage alone. You could then get bear hugs from her.
-A sneaky sim. The burglar returns, he will try to steal your stuff but you can put up alarms and store stuff in a safe or behind a safe door. They'd try and open it but it would take time, so even if asleep your sim could have time to call the cops. Michelle the cop from Sims 1 could always be the one to come arrest him. She is still onto him!
-Michelle the cop. Not only will she appear when you call the cops in case of a burglar, she will fine you if there is no burglar and you call for nothing. She might also call your sims to warn them if they clearly are doing stuff that disturbs the peace on their home lot, and could come over to fine them if they continue. For some stuff like launching rockets, Sims could now require a permit to not risk a fine for that.
-Vicky Vampiress. Placing her 'All things Draconic' cart on a public lot would cause her to spawn as it's vendor. If you have Realm of Magic installed, she will stand with her cart in the dueling area and can be challenged to a duel, and would be very difficult to defeat like in Sims 1, but would also give great rewards. While a spellcaster which would only show when duelling her, she could have some vampiric abilities too since it is in the game but she would walk in sunlight. At her cart you can buy various little dragons as pets, each different colour behaving a bit differently and these pets could also provide some tough challenges. Like they could put your sims house on fire, maybe steal shiny stuff too to create a hoard at their nest. Vicky would also sell all dragon pet related items.
-Genie. The magic lamp could make a return to the series, but this time it could come in copper, silver and gold: The copper lamp has 50% chance of getting the bad outcome, the silver lamp 25% and the gold lamp 0%. The copper one would also be the easiest to obtain and the gold one the hardest, each does grant three wishes however. You can pick between a wide range of wishes, but each only has a very good and a very bad outcome. Some examples of Genie wishes and outcomes:
-Wish for wealth. Either gain a pot of gold worth 10000 simoleans, or all your household funds disappear because by accident someone else has been given your sim's wealth.
-Wish for friends. Either several random sims appear around you with full relationship, or several random sims appear with a full negative relationship because the genie thought you said fiends.
-Wish for youth. Either your sim goes back an age group, or moves an age group forward. If elder they instantly die of old age. The genie being so ancient could find it hard to tell how sim ageing works.
-Wish for passion. Either a sim with full romantic relationship matching their preferences is spawned, or several fires start at random places on the lot at once.
-Wish for immortality. Either your sim stops ageing but can still die from everything else, or they turn into a stone statue which kills them, but does immortalise them in a different way.
-Wish for success. Either your sim gets to skip two promotions ahead in their career or they are fired.
-Wish for a clean house. Either your house is completely cleaned, all plants watered and broken things repaired and such or all sims on the lot temporarily turn into frankensims for a few hours.
-Wish for enlightenment. Either your sim gets a high amount of lifetime happiness, or they get struck by lightning. Even if indoors.
-Wish for children. Either get a baby to care for, or ALL troublesome NPC's added through this pack are spawned at once on your lot, the genie saying they want to test if you are ready for the responsibility. So now you have Sunny the clown, Gabby the mime, Claire the bear and the sneaky sim all at once.
As mentioned before, there could be cross interactions with the different NPC's. Like when having all four of these on your lot, Sunny and Gabby could actually dislike each other and constantly take mean and fight interactions with each other automatically. So now you could have a clown fighting a mime in your house. Which could cause a big distraction that would even cause cops and clown catchers on the lot to go to watch that fighting too, giving the sneaky sim free reign to steal what he wants whenever there's a fight going on between Sunny and Gabby. Sunny and Claire could have some interaction with Sunny trying to teach her some circus trick that she succeeds in straight away while he keeps failing at it which just makes him cry again.
As for items and such in the pack, it could be some Sims 1 clothing and items brought back outside of just the related items. Now with colour swatches of course.
