I have a sim who I decided to actually try to complete the whole frog collection with and...it's freaky, but I have ALL frogs, except absolutely none of the Surfer frog tier. As in 0, which means I can't even breed to unlock some of them.Are surfer frog varieties really that much rarer than all the rest, or is there some specific places only that you can get them? Carl's guide doesn't mention that variety as being special or difficult even, so this is baffling to me. I mean...none, nada, zip, zilch...no surfer frogs for me. It's freaky, I know I've gotten them before with Sims where I wasn't even trying to do the collection.

Got one!The trick was to just keep trying at the pond in Sylvan Glade over and over and over and over and over again. 90% of the time my sim completely fails to get a frog at that pond and just gets the "Better luck next time" notification, so I hadn't done much searching in the pond itself, mostly just logs.Even still though. I got just one surf-type frog and like 20 duplicates of one's I already had and like 100+ failed attempts. So yah, they are rare I guess.

My only sim that collects frogs is in Oasis Springs. He has a dirt surfer and a leaf surfer. He pretty much only searches in the Parched Prospect neighborhood so far, and then breeds what he finds. So you might find some in that area.

I can't remember where I found this frog before, but I think it was in Sylvan Glade.

Awesome, thank you @Daephene. I'll go there next to try to get a few more. I got just one in Sylvan glade and had no luck again after like 100 more attempts, so greener pastures it is.

Edit: I stopped off at the Forgotten Grotto first and got one there too! Maybe just making this thread was the boost I needed. This sim is a YA who has completed University, and she actually started this collection as a child...

I haven't felt like playing much this week. I guess I got bored, because I am taking this way too seriously. I have a new Sim, Jane Ribbet, my frog hunter. She is going to camp out around the worlds and catch frogs. I'll let you know if she finds a surfer one. Actually, I haven't collected the frogs in so long, so I will have fun with this. Thanks for the gameplay inspiration.

Since you have one you can now breed to get the other types.

fyi I believe I have found surfer frogs in Willow Creek (neighborhood with Goths' house and Oakenstead) and in Glimmerbrook.

Thanks everyone for the help. I ended up getting 3 of them (different ones even) just going to all the places people recommended. Though I will say, I didn't find any at all in the logs. I found 2 in the little water pump things and 1 in a pond. And they definitely are rare, because I got well over 100 other frogs in the process.

I'm going to breed for the last two I still need to complete the collection. I could have started breeding with just one, but I got kinda in the zone traveling around searching for 'em. :lol:
