- I would think that as long as there’s 1 square between the couch and the TV, they would use it, although I haven’t tested it out.
- Frn07316 years agoNew VanguardI've seen some people build movie theatres and the seats are quite far back in the room. I don't know how many squares it is but the sims were still able to use the tv. It was a huge screen though.
- MelsiePlays6 years agoNew SpectatorAlright, thanks. I'm building a house without an actual family to test things with, and I'd hate to have to rebuild the whole living room because the couches are too far apart.
- Sharooonia6 years agoNew SpectatorMy sims often refuse to sit on chairs or couches to watch TV. They seem to prefer standing in front of the couches. I actually don't think it matters even if you put the couch directly in front of the TV. Sims are kinda dumb. :D
- MDianaSims6 years agoSeasoned HotshotActually, if you put a couch too close to the tv, sims won't use it.
I think 3 squares away is a safe distance, but 2 or 2,5 might also still work. - My Sims always stand to watch tv no matter where I put the couch.
Almost as annoying as when they blow right by the dining table and carry their food out to eat on the patio during a rainstorm. - Simmerville6 years agoSeasoned AceI never counted tiles, but I'm often surprised to see a sim sitting far off the tv, still being able to watch the show. It looks a tad silly when the TV is quite tiny, but would be better if they had a huge wall mounted TV. But I guess sims don't really consider monitor size...
- Drives me crazy when they stand and watch TV. It seems to be more persistent when a coffee table is in between. But not always.
I have a strong dislike for the coffee tables in this game. Recently I had a sim take clothes out of the dryer. She brought them across the house, down the stairs and placed them on the coffee table. That’s where they go out of their way to put anything and everything. "babajayne;c-17302637" wrote:

Agreed! I absolutely hate how coffee tables became the go to drop off spot. Family meals, laundry, dirty dishes etc. On the one hand it does make some sense but at the other hand it really doesn't. Especially if a free open surface space is closer to them already.- Simmerville6 years agoSeasoned AceLet's hope University can offer them a major like "How to miss the coffee table when you put your laundry down". Sounds a tad more like a housewives' society speech, though
