- A lot of us want tried and true true expansions. I tried going back to play TS2 and I just can't, the graphics are nothing compared to to TS4, the building is tedious, the toddlers are a pain.
I also want Seasons and Pets for TS4. You may not see a difference between the games but some of us do and prefer TS4.
No matter what EA does they get people complaining. "Why is the expansion different from the one for TS3?" "Why do you keep releasing different stuff we haven't asked for?" "Why don't you release new, unique expansions?"
They can't satisfy everyone. Fortunately TS2 and TS3 are available for those who prefer it. "rinre33;15679843" wrote:

blame the community that keeps asking for the same stuff over and over in every sims game rather than letting EA try new things !
@CyrusTheLoser Yeah. "Hey, you know what? We're giving you the ability to choose a pack that could greatly enhance death and everything about it for the first ti-- wait, what are you doing? Are you seriously... oh god, you aren't voting for the LAUNDRY, ARE YOU!?!?"
I think some of the developers might have lost their faith in humanity there for a second :D
Don't want to sound rude in reply to this because I'm not into forum wars, but you do recognize that different players have different interests? My sims never die in game because that's not how I play. I'm probably in the minority when I say that I actively avoid death in game. But I really like the sound of creating an eco-friendly sim who goes to Granite Falls, enjoys photography and maybe goes to protests...or whatever it might be that I come up with. I am happy that this theme won. Others play family centered saves and maybe laundry and housework sounds fun to them. I can see why you might be underwhelmed, but you shouldn't blame other players for lackluster content. I mean, this is the first time we even got to vote on a theme in sims 4. I don't think any decision in necessarily wrong, just different and suited to other tastes :|
I know and respect that. Don't worry, I'm the last person to start forum wars ;)
I was just finding it funny how washing machines got more votes than fleshed out deaths and such things. But now that I've seen the art style poll I can actually say that I'm pretty excited for it anyways. Style A (which I voted for) looks really modern, even slightly futuristic, and I'd love to build houses with that kind of furniture. There is simply not enough CC for that. And style B has this kind of look that I'd also use sometimes, albeit not as often as A.
The more I'm thinking about it, the more I notice how weird it actually is that my Sims never had washing machines or anything like that. Huge bathrooms are possible, but there was never enough to fill them with. Now I know what's been missing all the time. And hey, I have never played Sims 3 that much, maybe laundry turns out to be fun for me too in the end? :)"MiSFiT203;15673990" wrote:
being that i can hardly afford to buy anything for this game these days and upon revisiting the sims 2 after many years, i've realized everything i keep wishing i could afford to buy i already have.
why do i need to buy the same old plum again that i can barely afford? even better, when am i gonna see something new and different thats worth the struggle to buy?
There are certain things that people expect to be added into these games eventually. If people didn't want them and they didn't sell, then they wouldn't be added. But no one is forcing you to buy anything you don't want to buy. If you think something is skippable, then you can skip it....problem solved."MiSFiT203;15673990" wrote:
The sims fan base isnt just new simmers, there are many of us here who been here longer than many of these new players have been alive. when you leave people with broken games they love and offer then new games that do nothing more than the old games, old timers will eventually start getting bored.
Sorry, but when it comes to Sims 4, you aren't entitled to any preferential treatment or deference as a customer because of anything you spent on The Sims, Sims 2 and Sims 3. It's a new game and you don't get "credit" for money you've spent on past games. The Sims 2 and 3 both had about 4 years of content updates and development...not sure it's reasonable or realistic to expect much more than that."MiSFiT203;15673990" wrote:
looks at the new stuff pack ideas that were voted on... weddings? we already have them... do we really need to dump more money into this idea? starter homes? ok, i'll bite, Cyclonesue quit the business, that leaves a hole. i could see that being stuff we need. Arcade? Do i really need a video game where i play a video game character that i have to sit and watch play video games, rather just playing video games myself? maybe im looking at it wrong. i dont feel like playing video games today, so i'm gonna let my sim play while i sit and watch. Boring. but sure why not... wanna add this plum? people wanna buy this plum? sure go for it. but could we atleast have occasional opportunities to buy packs that think out of the box and do something totally new.
The stuff pack options voted on were the stuff pack ideas that didn't make the cut of what they already intend to develop and release. This eco stuff pack isn't even the next stuff pack...we've already seen a teaser showing a new game pack and stuff pack before the eco stuff pack ever comes out. So you don't have to worry about the wedding, death, starter home and arcade stuff packs as those aren't getting made.- Then they need to bring back the things that made the other games interesting, like making the ghosts scary, making the grim reaper scary, stop with all the happy happy joy joy stuff, it stifles the game. Bring back the unexpected that makes us go OMG!
- Personally I can't stand the way sims look in 2 & 3. It just doesn't compare to sims 4 IMO.
- ok.... my refund comment was a joke for anyone who thought different.
I still do play the Sims 4 though far less than older games.
is the sims 4 all bad? nope.
I like the Sims appearance and the push and pull customization
I Like the Colors used.
I Love what was done with the behavior of toddlers and vampires.
what does bother me...
all the blah blah blah that we heard a million times. lack of customization, lack of open world blah blah blah.
then there used to be a new EP every other month and an SP in between. I used to love the EP's and The SP's and wanted em all.
Plus to top it off we had a HUMONGOUS DLC Store with an endless supply of great stuff.
pretty much anything and everything for just about anyone. If you complained it was boring you were nuts.
The Sims 4 is stripped of great features, i personally dont feel the packs were all that great. not saying they Sukkked,
they were just ok. and the amount of choice is severely limited.
"well if you dont like it just shut up and dont buy it.. cause the rest of us do."
So those of us who dont, have nothing much to choose from. but thats ok, cause you dont care, not your problem.
we have to speak out and complain. we dont have a DLC store to just go buy whatever we want and skip the packs. (New worlds, new gameplay items, whatever) its just here is what you get, you bought it all before and before that and now your gonna buy it again cause there is nothing else for you to buy. or as our new more prioritized younger generation would say. quit playing the game, your too old.
I spent 12+ years loving everything about the sims without prejudice. if they made it, i had to have it. you might jump on the bandwagon at the sims 4 and love everything about it and will want everything they make without prejudice and just simply gotta have it.
Just remember, your gonna be me / us someday, and you will eventually be feeling the same way. "Pancakesandwich;c-15677616" wrote:
