- Cabelle18635 years agoSeasoned AceIt's a bug, likely related to the patch since some who are experiencing it don't have Eco Lifestyle. Hit the "me too" button to let the devs know it's a widespread problem- https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Plants-shrink-after-harvesting-Turns-into-harvestable/m-p/9168505#M132924
- Karababy525 years agoLegendThank you so much for the link on Answers EA to the bug report @Cabelle1863 I've hit the 'Me Too' button.
- paigeisin55 years agoSeasoned AceMy Sims won't do the evolve interaction on plants growing in the new vertical planters. Such a huge disappointment for me. I am also having the same issues others are having. Gardening in the Sims is one of my favorite features, so I hope the teams get this sorted out soon. I grabbed a mod to use until there's a permanent fix for it. I am playing a Master Crafter and he needs flowers in order to make those specialty candles.
And thanks for the 'metoo' link @Cabelle1863. - DragonAge_3009055 years agoSeasoned Ace

I had that too. The next sim day I moved my sim to the front of the planter and then she was able to evolve it.
Eta. thanks for the link @Cabelle1863 - paigeisin55 years agoSeasoned Ace@DragonAge_300905 Yep, that doesn't work for me either. Why those plants in those planters need my Sim to do that interaction seems a bit pointless since the auto-evolve option without the interaction is available for plants that aren't in those vertical planters. It should be the same for all plants no matter where those are planted. If my Sim does one evolve interaction with one vertical planter, the rest of the plants in all the other vertical planters cannot be evolved by my Sim at all. The plants become stuck and not even an object reset changes that. Indoors, outdoors, tiled together or spaced apart, none of that changed the outcome. The problem seems to be coming from how our Sims interact with the new heights at which the plants are being grown. The lower box is at a different height as well as the upper box, plus the teams decided not to add the auto-evolve interaction which then requires our Sims to kneel down and talk to the plant before it will evolve. And that is an old animation I believe was replaced in the pre-Season update with the auto-evolve where we just click on a plant and our Sims don't need to interact with the plant at all.
- My cowplant goes back to just a pile of dirt occasionally. If I shift click on it, it will reset and go back to normal so no big. I also have some plants that I grafted and they never actually grew - it's been more than a full Sims year. Gardening is really buggy since the last last patch.
- susanleona5 years agoSeasoned AceMy gardening issues began after the patch but before the Eco expansion, but don't seem to affect all my saves now.

If I remember correctly, it was mentioned in the life stream that the quality of plants would be affected by the economic state of the neighbourhood. So it might not even be a bug.
Are there any other plants than basil affected? I did not notice any other plants not showing correctly.
@83bienchen it is a bug, there is an open bug report. Also, I have this issue and I don't have Eco Lifestyle - so yup, it is a bug.
Everyone having a problem, please MeToo this bug report: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Plants-shrink-after-harvesting-Turns-into-harvestable/td-p/9168505
@danceswithchaos - tagged so you can see the link - 83bienchen5 years agoSeasoned AceOk, @troshalom, but that is the bug with basil and sage not showing correctly, not the one with plants changing in quality.
I never said the one with the wonky showing plants wasn't a bug, because I seen it on parsley in game myself (didn't have sage, though).
I've also found a problem in the tuning data of both basil and sage and have fixed it. There might be more though so I'm not sure whether my fix is working as intended. Anyone interested in testing can download the file here:
http://bienchen83.bplaced.net/s4/mods/sims4me_basilsagefix.rar
(please note that it's not compatible with my plantsgodormantinwinter mod, that one will get an update when I'm through with testing)
Btw, I didn't even say that the quality problem wasn't a bug, I only said it MIGHT not even be a bug. Just remember the weird mass of wonky situational clothing that isn't a bug, but a design choice EA made. - Luckylunayre5 years agoSeasoned Ace

I didn't know you were on these forums, I love your mods! Thank you for all you do!
