The New Sentiments Feature, On/Off Toggle?

I've played a little bit since Sentiments were added to the game and I've got mixed feelings about them. In some ways, I think it's kind of cool but in other ways they add...I don't know, maybe a little fussiness to my game. I think sometimes I'll want to play with them and sometimes I won't depending on how much time I have to play or how tired I am. I've looked around to see if there's a way to turn them Off and On but I haven't seen a way to do it. Can they be toggled Off and On?

  • I'm not having any issues with them so far. I barley notice them actually. What issues are they causing? Am I missing something?
  • I don't think there is a toggle. But I have UI Cheats Extensions installed, and so if the sentiment moodlets are feeling a little overpowering or inappropriate I just right click on it and it disappears. Could be a good compromise? Then you get to have sentiments but just delete the ones you dont want :)

It's not a problem or a broken kind of issue, it's more of a distraction kind of issue and I do notice them. I'd just like to have the ability to turn them off sometimes.

Thank you for this, I'll have to check it out to see if I can tone the sentiments down.

That's understandable. It seems weird that they added a toggle for Lifestyles but not the Sentiments.
  • Oh, I actually love the addition. I'm working with my Sims to build up those relationships since they can now go into greater depth. My Global Superstar is on a good standing, so far, with two of his four children. :)

It was especially fun when playing my Ancestral game save to see the budding relationship between my sixth great-grandparents develop right before my eyes. They were in love with each other prior to marriage, in a time frame wherein love was NOT a prerequisite for that institution. He went from Deeply connected, to Close, to Adoring, to Smitten, to Deeply in Love. She, on the other hand, is Deeply in love. ;)
  • I haven't played with them too much yet. I guess I am not really sticking in one household long enough to see the differences so far.

One thing I noticed though, is that one of my sims is seeing a few boys and playing the field. She has a deep connection with one, but not the others. And that sim has a deep connection with her. She didn't do anything differently with him than she did with the others, but they have it.

So now I feel like I have to find out why, and maybe pursue that relationship more fully.

Edit: But to answer, I haven't seen a toggle for them. I'm hoping they work well and that I won't want one. lol
