The New Skin Colors Upgrades - Plz Expand to add recolors to Decorations too

Same. I dont use those. They did recently add an artwork with a brown skinned girl though. From, eco living :)

I would love a color wheel for build/buy mode too. There are a lot of frames and bed posts I would like new colors for. I don't have time to recolor them myself anymore. That was fun about Sims 2 and Sims 3 was having the ability to interchange the bed frame and bedding. I do have some bunk bed CC I use that someone created that had a separate frame and bedding.

For my pretty Afro sim, I select the vet picture,
The pretty lady with coffee sign &
the handsome Vampire portrait.
I found these in City Living, Cats And Dogs & Vampires packs.

Unfortunately, there's still no pictures of Natives.

Yeah @SERVERFRA hopefully, they will add that representation too.

I think the hanging light pictures are meant to represent friends instead of family members, and I can see Sims of all different skin tones on that one swatch.

The others look too historic for my games and would only really fit in a museum or something, but of course I would welcome versions that aren't all white Sims.

I don't usually care for the artwork. A few times I have contemplated creating sims that look like the art (especially the two twin frames with a female and male cop. So it'd look like it was them and not some random sims on the walls). But mostly I use photographs of my sims to decorate anyway if I have any and/ or paintings they make.

However isn't the framed paintings supposed to display a somewhat European history? Like one is from Get Together and features Windenburg (which is supposed to be German?)
The other two look like the average European art you might find in museums IRL.

Now, I don't know if what you want is say actual Africans/ African Americans/ Native etc in those settings (like just changing the skin colour in the paintings) or are you asking for more NEW art in general?

Cuz that I don't mind. I dont have an opinion either or... maybe I should start decorating more XD

Not to be rude but I think it's reasonable with those sorts of paintings, they're supposed to be representative of old England. I think it'd be a bit weird to stick other ethnicities into things that are supposed to be olden day Europe, just the same as if the Japanese style art they have in the game was full of non-asian people. It'd be weird

City Living has a painting in a similar style which I think includes a black sim but it's locked behind the politician career

@MaggieMarley How did you get the purple skin-tone for your sim in your avatar? Was that added to the new skin colors upgrades?

For the "Portrait of Marriage", that is a bit 'dated' for 'humour' in the description for that portrait. It certainly shouldn't be Environment 9. I mean really, how many Sims in-game do the marriage thing under an arch with photos then later cheat on each-other?. (Could continue the story though that the maid, he later left the guy for his wife... And that the maid, he finds out that the guy's wife is actually a male also... It's far enough as is though and THAT would be going WAY too overboard for 'humour'.) I never did like that painting for my Sims homes anyways because it's boring looking, though it certainly fits a dusty old museum, lol

I do use that frame mesh though for my own CC paintings. (Other's art I mean that I really like I put in) It's a nice frame, plus no matter what image in it gives environment 9.

@troshalom I agree that more variety should be added, like especially the first one you posted:

Though it implies that the photos are not of the sim's "family" anyways, just bought at a store off the shelf. Which makes sense since every household could have the exact same set. ;)

I actually like that one's lay-out and have been meaning to put together my own collages in CC. It's quite a bit more work with six different images on one mesh. One image alone on a mesh can be tricky enough to get it looking decent.

The lack of variety is why I turned to making my own paintings and posters. Ones you buy in build-mode. Otherwise the variety of paintings your sims paint on their own is pretty cool. There's quite a few I don't like, but there are many I do like, the "Dopefish" for example. :D

@Onverser You make a good point. Instead of changing the ones there, add more variety of 'historical' paintings based on Black American History, Inuit History, Haida, Māori, Aztec, Beninese, Mongolian, Congolese, etc etc, so much could be added as 'pseudo-historical' to the game. Based on real cultures but adapted for fiction/fantasy for the game of course. ;)

That should be added to base game, not in packs. Unless it's in a free gift pack like holidays and that guitar thingy. Hmm... come to think of it, that may be a good way to add more without overdoing updates that have to change things which tends to add more bugs anyways.

I don't think it's offensive. It's just a satire of sad reality to be honest.
There is also a lot of cheating in the Sims series anyway. I think it's just one story.

Well you are entitled to your opinion too. I'm not going to get into an argument about it. As someone who was severely anorexic in the past I guess I am just sensitive to anything which seems to portray weight gain (especially of women) in a negative light. It's all the little messages like this that pushed me over the edge.

In those times where the portraits were supposed to be painted, thickness was a sign of wealth for the family and it was supported. Usually many families were hungry everday in due of crop failures, support of the troops for the endless wars or pandemic, they eat just the same dish and were very malnourished.

The concept of love marriage didn't exist or it was very rare after the wedding, it was all on useful relations between the families. The love between Queen Victoria and Prince Albert was an exception. The children had no right there, they had to do what the fathers wanted.
It's not the time where I would live voluntary, but that was history and now the women have more rights. And because of this I would prefer not to recolor them. New pictures would be better in my opinion.

@Onverser The paintings I included are not represented of all of the art in the game, I didn't want to take time taking a screen shot of every single piece of art that could use recolors.
But to your point, if the art is historical they could add recolors that match historical people from other parts of the world with different hues.
The first image I posted is supposed to represent your ancestors. So, they can include recolors that include people of various hues.

I decorate my sims homes with photos they take, but some homes where I play a generation, I would like art on the walls that shows the family tree. If I play a blended family, one side of the family can be represented well with a large variety of art, but the darker hued sims, presently, have limited choices.
