The rent rate?

I heard that it's based on the apartment and that it's fix and never go up, maybe just test it real fast on a new file.

This. Customizing the interior by redoing walls and adding more furniture will not affect the rent.

Thanks for the link!! I saved an apartment by removing a wall per section of a room and bulldozed it.. then went to the map.. yup the rent is fixed.. I guess what changes is the amount it costs for the apartment furniture..

So if you upgrade the furniture the rent won't go up?

The rent rate won't go up if you change/upgrade the furnishings. It will remain the same.

Empty or full of furniture the rent stays the same, but the price of the furniture increases... So discovering that you can upgrade and it will stay the same.. Good time to buy your perfect furniture and move to a bigger apartment when your ready..

Don't suppose anyone knows how the rent rates for houses works (in general), i mean one week my rent is $6,000 the next $86,000. That's a huge difference and I'm not doing anything different each sim week
