Another thing I dislike is yellow being the default for lamps. I almost always switch it to white. Is that just me or is anyone else doing that, too?
I always switch to white, too. I'm not happy with the lighting options - the overhead lamps provide the best lighting, but they're obtrusive and block my view. I wish they would disappear when the walls are down or half-down, just as the wall lights do. Mostly, I use the wall lights to save space and because they do disappear in walls-down view, but I seriously spent about a half hour going through all the wall lights, looking for one that would match my decor. (This has been a peeve since Sims 3 (2?) - I never seem to have the wall light I need, or the light that would be perfect for the decor isn't bright enough. I know that The Sims and maybe Sims 2 had ceiling lights that would disappear in walls down.)
