- I don't care much for cars anymore, but I want BICYCLES! I want my sims to be able to ride around the neighborhood!

TS2 is also a game from 2004 while the TS4 is a game from 2014 and TS3 is factually the most advanced Sims game from 2009. No excuses. This is exactly a part of the reason why TS4 is the way it is. When consumers accept mediocre, that's exactly what they will continue to get. No point in going above and beyond for those who will accept old technology and buy it at a high price.
Truth is, nothing can be done with TS4 in terms of surpassing TS3 or even TS2 in my opinion. It was doomed during its conception phase and will never be a real The Sims sequel. Why even name the game The Sims 4? But I didn't fall for that obvious deception.
Well in my opinion Sims 2 did have more to do with a vehicle then Sims 3 all we did in Sims 3 was drive around Sims 2 we sat in the car listen to music, make out and woohoo and an alarm on your car also in Sims 2 we restored a car but like I said I would also to teach the teens to drive like the Sims 3 offered and wash the car that is something we never did in any game. Now sorry but in Sims 4 we don't have open world and it seems like nothing will change that but trying to say cars won't work because no open world Nah it can work cars were awesome in Sims 2 even if it was back in 2004.
Yes, it is true that TS2 cars are far more in depth than any Sims game to date and it is a shame they didn't do so much more in TS3. Like I've mentioned somewhere previously, it's unfortunate to not have taken a full advantage of the open world. However, there are also technology restraints as how they wanted to do the open world and had to sacrifice some things for either performance and/or limitation reasons. Or so the SimGuru said which that particular thing I believe because TS3 is the only Sims game that can be called a true life simulator as can be taxing on the CPU/GPU. The game does actually simulate, not imitate like TS/TS2/TS4. One lot/area imitating life vs Open world simulating all Sims universally. Though the reason the SimGuru gave was because then garage placement couldn't be anywhere on the lot and they knew how creative the building community is. Plus, Sims would possibly have a ridiculous amount of routing errors because they can't get to the vehicle. Again, a whole open world simulating Sims...I would agree with that decision.
Which is why game sequels are supposed to be an improved and advanced version of the last foundation/game engine. To add to what couldn't be done, not subtract from it. I'm not going to pay for expensive retrogression that chops up gameplay into small sized and mostly insignificant gaming experiences that still adds up to nothing really impressive compared to TS2 or TS3. Those games actually followed a very important pattern of building a growing foundation and also started out the way it was meant to be played...as a people/life simulator.
And where did I say cars won't work in TS4? It would be ever so kind for some people to actually read and comprehend than just assume what they think I am saying. It's obvious the whole point of my feedback is to point out TS4 has gone backwards to 2004 (2000 too) instead of using the fullest potential the franchise and fans deserve. But apparently some fans don't care and accept whatever. I don't care, it's not me. The Sims future been dead since 2014.
I honestly don't understand how anyone could be so excited over cars or any vehicles and then a loading screen. It was cool in TS2 because that was a huge improvement over TS and never been done before, therefore new.
While I do prefer TS2 in-depth cars with animations and interactions, I also prefer making full use of vehicles in an open world setting. So I would want both and not one or other. Fortunately, TS3 has so much to offer it's not that big of a deal to me and can be easily overlooked. Plus, at the very least the store team was nice enough to create a vehicle and bring back some of the animations/interactions from TS2.

Now where in my statement did I say you said cars wouldn't work in Sims 4 aren't we in a topic stating cars won't work in Sims 4 I was referring to that.
Now I don't know about the others so I'm going to speak for myself I would like cars in the game this is coming from a person who got excited from Sims bustin out all that vehicle did was drive down the road and Sims Urbz on the motor cycle all they did was ride up and down an alley. So yeah I maybe wasting my money on a game thats backwards but Sims is my addiction and I'm not ready to be clean yet. Plus I'm happy with the game. - Pegasyms8 years agoSeasoned Ace

Why get excited over anything? Like new music released by your favorite artist? It's the same bass, guitar, drums, synths, vocals - no new huge improvement. It's because while not being revolutionary, it still is nonetheless novel in a familiar, supported environment.
People get excited over the idea of weather, cars, or other previous content which they feel is missing from the game. It doesn't have to be completely new and revolutionary. I would be excited with cars, because it would be cars in the Sims 4 environment, which is both novel, and could significantly add to gameplay. "Briana2425;c-16354537" wrote:

Driving is the only thing I personally do with my rl car and it’s what I love doing in 3. Plus there’s the Roaring Heights car, which I built twice and then sort of forgot about (apart from driving) because sitting in a car and making out is as entertaining as doing it in a tent or a closet. Nice to do once, repetitive to do twice or more. For me sims driving off and carpools and things like that is what makes them an important addition in Sim 2 (and why I miss them in 4; all this teleporting...).- Briana25268 years agoSeasoned Ace

I also miss carpools especially the school bus for the kids this is the only game that the school bus is not around its weird to just look at the kids to just walk off the side walk when a bus is not coming. I police and the fire engine, repairman, maid, the nanny, pizza etc. Everyone showed up in a vechile now you call the maid, nanny and pizza they come walking it's weird especially pizza lol. What I mean is I miss vechiles in the game from our sim driving their car to the the carpool I miss vechiles in general. - Hi! I don't think we should underestimate EA when they're doing their job. If they decide to add cars, I think they can do it nicely.
I read a comment of how there was no roads in Windenburg, what I think can happen is they will edit all existing maps without necessarily roads, to have a little "standpoint", like in The Sims 2 where as you didn't necessarily see them drive but you saw the animation of them coming from the road and unloading.
The Sims 3 didn't animate them opening doors or etc, so I think if they include that in The Sims 4, it will be very forgiving.
Also to mention, a great idea would be to have a driving game pack, where there is a new alley, where there is plenty of open spacing for driving, such as drive through's in restaurants, and drive in movie nights. :) - Briana25268 years agoSeasoned Ace

Drive through restaurants I never thought of that it would be so cool to do. I mean we do that in real life and Sims 4 once a teen knows how to drive drive in restaurants it is lol. Drive in movies I miss those days but in the game in one of its back drop I think it's Oasis Springs you see like a drive in movie and what look like a carwash and gas station but that would be cool to add. That's fine if some genuinely enjoy TS4 for what it is. Personally, I favor when The Sims has quality over quantity. Not saying many options are bad but what good is it if the main game is so downtrodden and boring it really makes no difference to me at all. I want a game that is both engaging, fun to play and hopefully has decent enough quality control."Pegasys;c-16356221" wrote:

Not saying that previous features/content is nothing to get excited over. However, the whole premise is using previous features with no real improvements/advancements. So technically the same old, same old. Compare the main features of TS: Unleashed vs TS2: Pets vs TS3: Pets vs TS4: Cats & Dogs to understand how building from a previous foundation continues with familiar gameplay but at the same time adds something new and fresh while improving on old concepts.
I mostly get excited over huge and brand new features like....
TS2 added aging and new age groups, genetics which therefore also includes generations.
TS3 added an open world with no loading screens, finally a tool (CASt) that allows the freedom and creativity to color/pattern anything you want and match or mismatch everything. All households age together instead of separately making it more realistic and truer to the genre it represents. Story progression that allows the Sims around your active ones to well...progress in their virtual lives.
Just to name some features that truly does impact the entire game dramatically and is a significant addition to the growing foundation.
Back to vehicles in TS4. Even if they add new interactions, to me, it is not a grand difference in gameplay at all. Sure, it would be welcomed by others but it doens't change the core of the game to be the most engaging. If vehicles do end up being added...have fun.- Briana25268 years agoSeasoned Ace

I'm not twisting words around are we not in a thread clearly stating cars can not work because Sims 4 is not Open World? I was staying on topic.
You can disagree and we can have discussion or you pick and reach and look for an issue that's not there I for one am not going to go back and forth that will waste both of our time and also derail the thread.
I said what I said about cars being in the Sims 4 if you disagree then you disagree, What else is there?
