- GalacticGal4 years agoLegendHave you tried deleting the localthumbcache.package? Also, make certain your Sims don't have their personal inventories loaded with stuff.
- Lazzial4 years agoSeasoned AceIt's the game and I wish I had a solution. I've noticed game performance getting worse with each of the last few game DLC's. I'm even getting CTD's which I've never had before, but since Cottage Living my game freezes and crashes now and then. It's especially bad if you're playing live and go into build mode to access your household inventory or to make some changes. I notice significant lag in the game after doing so.
- akl12264 years agoSeasoned AceSometimes I notice some slow downs for no reason but not super often. Usually there is a reason behind it.
I notice the transition between build and buy to live mode lag or vice versa. This is fixable by opening the options menu and it corrects the game. Also noticed if I have clear notifications it’s better.
I also sometimes get sluggish when my graphics card driver needs to be updated. It’s like the game knows and starts chugging a bit.
I do notice the new world with cottage living has a bit of lag to it no matter what. Some lag during heavy weather occasionally like blizzards or thunderstorms but that heavily depends on the save file. Also internet connection plays a role. What I mean by that is if you play offline completely you may have less lag.
So yes I notice it but I also notice it’s usually one of these reasons behind it. So it’s the game getting older yes but other reasons as well. As @GalacticGal said make sure you clear your local thumbnail cache very often. I do between every play session most of the time. - Sharooonia4 years agoSeasoned AceMy game has become much more laggy with the last few packs added. I hope they can fix this some how. :(
