Sometimes I notice some slow downs for no reason but not super often. Usually there is a reason behind it.
I notice the transition between build and buy to live mode lag or vice versa. This is fixable by opening the options menu and it corrects the game. Also noticed if I have clear notifications it’s better.
I also sometimes get sluggish when my graphics card driver needs to be updated. It’s like the game knows and starts chugging a bit.
I do notice the new world with cottage living has a bit of lag to it no matter what. Some lag during heavy weather occasionally like blizzards or thunderstorms but that heavily depends on the save file. Also internet connection plays a role. What I mean by that is if you play offline completely you may have less lag.
So yes I notice it but I also notice it’s usually one of these reasons behind it. So it’s the game getting older yes but other reasons as well. As @GalacticGal said make sure you clear your local thumbnail cache very often. I do between every play session most of the time.
