I have never had representation in any Sims game or any other game. But that's just fine with me. Why would I want a deaf Sim with a cochlear implant? I have never even wanted to make my "simself". I'm not a sim in the game, I'm their goddess. As their goddess, I want them to have good lives and to make any of them deaf would feel mean and like I was setting them up to fail right from the start.
On top of that, EA would probably do it all wrong anyway. Just like they're doing it wrong now. I just want more gameplay as others have already stated.
If they end up making some people happy about the changes, that's great! Even if I will never understand why some people would choose to be a sim rather than be the sim's god. But what about all of us that would rather have some meaningful gameplay? I mean, this is a game. It sucks that I have to use mods just to get them to not act like the brainless people from Wellington Wells in "We Happy Few".
Could you elaborate on this? I would love to get your feedback on what you think we could do better here.
I assume you mean what you're doing wrong now so I'll answer that first even although it may sound like I'm just echoing what others have already said.
I'll start with the clothes being made available for both male and female. I have long wanted clothes to be unisex, so that they are now isn't the problem. The problem is with how they look on the opposite sex than they were intended to originally be for. It's just lazy that no time was spent making sure all the clothes looked right on both sexes of sims. I have seen screenshots that show that even the clothes in the newer packs are not done properly. That's disrespectful at worst and just lazy at best.
The hairstyles. Bring them on, the more the better. But that actually means MORE, not, "hey look we moved some hairstyles from a pack to the base game to be more inclusive. Oh, you already had that expansion? Well, I guess you're SoL."
The pronouns. It should have been like that from the start or implemented in S5 from the start. Going back in an 8? year old game and making these changes that does not affect actual gameplay just seems like you're trying to virtue signal or score brownie points. Now, maybe if y'all had gone back and changed other things that people have been wanting since day 1 - better personalities, better/more gameplay, a colorwheel (I'm sure you know the list), if those things had already been done it probably wouldn't bother me if you wanted to add this before wrapping it up and calling it done. I guess, in other words, it's not implementing more pronouns that bothers me. It's that it feels like an unnecessary priority for you when there's so many other things that so many people have wanted for so long. I guess the fault is in how y'all went and made it personal. Instead of, play god over these little simmies and make their lives wonderful (or horrendous) it became play your sim-self and always be smiling.
I apologize if I've said anything offensive. Not my intention.
