I've noticed this issue a lot with the wedding pack too. When they try so hard to represent everyone, everyone then expects to be represented and gets disappointed that x culture is represented and not theirs, or they get disappointed that the representation of their culture is not 100% accurate.
I've seen so many comments like "they better have x wedding tradition", "they need to have this thing that's important to my culture", etc. And that's where the focus on representation becomes a problem, because it would be physically impossible for them to represent every element of every culture in a $20 pack. It's just not viable to do that at all, and they then set an unachievable precedent by trying so hard to represent everyone. If they weren't trying to represent everyone, then nobody would expect these traditions, but because they are pushing so much for representation people expect it.
Also noticed the same going round on social media, I've seen people complaining that "they did a big update for Hispanic Heritage month, so where's the big update for black history month?". People even complained that the Lunar New Year content was centered around Korea rather than all of the countries that celebrate. Same has been happening with packs too, people have been complaining about "culture being locked behind a paywall" and expecting every single culture to be represented in the base game and that's just not viable because there's so many things that are important to different cultures, and the team physically cannot add that all in free updates. It just becomes a completely impossible situation
