Love the mermaids kiss and it doesn't get rejected. It can also be done with aquaintences. It's the same kiss as kiss in water but that's what regular sims do. Unlike the mermaids kiss the kiss in water won't show up unless sims are a couple and have already shared their first kiss.
Mermaids kiss can also be done on land but on land it's just a kiss on the cheek.
