The Sims 4: Horse Ranch Official Screenshot Thread

Yuki Hime, my Japanese version of Snow White living in Mt. Komorebi, now has a horse called Shiro. Even though his name literally means "White", Shiro mirrors his owner's colour preferences of white, black, and red.

(I realise this isn't the best example of that, but I honestly can't explain why she's wearing blue and green in this picture. I made her months ago, and maybe this outfit wasn't available in the correct colours... I'll have to check that later.)

Quick question: How do you feed an apple to a horse? I saw that in the trailer and tried it in my own game, but even though the sim had apples in her inventory, prairie grass was the only option.

@GrumpyGlowfish it was an apple that my sim found while harvesting the prairie grass on her lot. I have the prairie grass challenge on that lot. Perhaps that is why she could hand feed it. I can test it for you tomorrow if you like. It is night time here now :)

@GrumpyGlowfish when clicking on the horse, do you not see an option 'hand feed...' ?

@elanorbreton Yes. But when the list of things I can feed to the horse comes up, prairie grass is the only option, no matter what else is in the sim's inventory. The sim and the horse have a very good relationship. Could it have something to do with the horse's temparament skill perhaps?

@GrumpyGlowfish that's strange, my sim was able to feed her newly adopted horse some carrots and I think the horse only just got its first point in the temperate skill, as I got my sim to be friends with the horse first.

I didn't have prairie grass in the inventory though, maybe take it out and see if you can then offer an apple?

@GrumpyGlowfish I have awoken from my slumber LOL, so will load my game while sipping on my morning coffee and test this apple theory for you. I thought of planting an apple tree, harvesting it and trying those apples, and then thought of getting fruit seed packets and seeing if I can feed those apples, then of course what worked already keep on harvesting prairie grass and feed those apples ;)

@mcrudd Wow, thank you so much for all your efforts! Now I know it's definitely my problem and not a general problem.

My guess is that it's either mod-related (although I can't imagine which of my mods could be causing this) or that everything is fine and it simply didn't work the first time I tried (like how my very first teenager got kicked out of high school for no reason, but it never happened again; first times seem to be difficult for me). I haven't played with horses this week, but I'll try again soon.

@GrumpyGlowfish ? at "Help me!" I have a married couple (Adults) who started riding horses at the same time. They have similar traits--both Animal Enthusiasts. The husband soon became fairly competent in the saddle, but the wife still looks terrified. Don't know why. The horses each have the Mellow trait. ?‍♀️
