The Sims 5? Maxis Recruiting for “Exciting New Game in the Sims Franchise”

I hope so!

TS4 was a mess from start to...where it is right now. Hopefully if it's TS5, it's made with detail and love and just overall a true The Sims game and hopefully EA won't flood it with politics like they have been doing with their recent games. They need only to worry about making a goood game.

Sims 4 Medieval here we come

this could be the first spin off game for sims 4 sims 3 had Medieval and sims 2 had castaway sims 1 I think had busting out

The link isn't working. Could what it connected to be down already? Not holding my breath on 5. If it ever happens, be better if it came from another company, one that actually cared and knew how to build a good game.

I am not 100% convinced it’s for “The Sims 5.” The way some of the executive producer job was worded, it almost seemed like it could an entirely new franchise. I suspect it would resemble The Sims in some way, but they might be taking it in a different direction or breaking away from the “Sims” title in some way. I’m interested to see what it turns into though.

What the Executive Producer will do at Maxis:

Develop the creative center of the game and build a fully playable/shippable level demonstrating the key attributes of the game (game play, technology, linkages to outside media)
Expand the playable/shippable level to produce a full AAA title
Grow the game into a successful franchise capable of multiple versions
Effectively communicate the core experience of the game to other parts of the EA
Work with key reports (Senior Producer, Development Director, Art Director, Audio Director, Creative Director and Producers) to create an organizational structure and processes that allow the team to efficiently produce high quality work on time and on budget
Passionately articulate goals and team principles to help form a stimulating and fun work environment.
Be able to represent and manage the game as a successful business within the Maxis portfolio against the competitive landscape externally to EA.
Articulate and serve the games target audience.
Ensure the product is positioned appropriately with EAs overall strategy.
Champion the professional development of your people and ensure that EA continues to attract and retain the very best talent.
Work with Studio Finance to prepare accurate and reasonable project budgets and develop the game within that budget.
Sell the value of your game across EA and our industry, including interviews & meetings with the press, partner companies, EA executives, etc.

Given what we've been told about the future of Sims 4, I find it hard to think that this would be a Sims 5. I'd expect something more like a side game.

If they're still in preproduction, it could take years before a final product comes out, so the development of Sims 5 would coincide with Sims 4 having more content for years.

I do hope it's Sims 5 too. And I hope they learn from their mistakes and just give the fans what they want instead of trying some new gimmick.
