- Cynna10658 years agoSeasoned AceAs my consistent favorite EP, Seasons was make or break for me and TS4.
I didn't have much hope for Seasons. The previous packs were deep disappointments. As such, Seasons was going to be the last pack that I bought before finally calling it quits. All I wanted was rain, snow, and cloudy days. I could live with that.
Yet, after slowly making my way through this thread, I can say that I'm excited at the prospect of actually playing Seasons, not just using it to make pretty backdrops for my story. It's the first time that I've had this feeling in years.
All of the attention to detail -- extended game play, family interactions, and ,especially, the unexpected romantic touches -- have sold me on the pack. At long last, it feels as if TS4 has begun to grant my fondest wishes.
I'm grateful for all of the participants in this thread. Thank you for sharing your discoveries.
In particular, I'm grateful to the devs for listening to long-standing concerns. Thank you.
I don't know if TS4 will instantly become my favorite. However, this pack has given me hope for the direction that the game is going. It makes me look forward to the future of the series and my most beloved game franchise. <3 - LadyKyn8 years agoSeasoned Ace

Things I've discovered: Sims 4 seasons is lazier than sims 3, you can't even play in the snow.
Also, how do you even use umbrellas?
That sounds more like a personal opinion rather than a fact about the pack. :)
You most certainly can play in the snow. Dunno why you think you can't.
You click on the umbrella rack and choose your umbrella you want to whatever color. Your sim will use the umbrella when it's raining or you can click on your sim and the option to 'open umbrella' will show. - LadyKyn8 years agoSeasoned Ace@Cynna That's very nice to hear how Seasons have given you more hope for better fleshed out packs in the future. It certianly has for me. If we have a couple of more years of Sims 4 and have things like t his to look forward to with better details then it definitely gets me excited.
This pack certainly renewed a lot with the gameplay and everything just feels so fresh with the added details. It makes playing families have even a lot more meaning along with sims having friends and inviting those friends with participating in holidays and such. It just makes me feel good. - LadyKyn8 years agoSeasoned Ace

I just found out that winterfest trees can burn  my family decorated the whole tree, put presents underneath and all, then turned on the lights... And the whole thing burned to a pile of ash, kids and pets run into snowstorm outside, poor things  from now on I'm going to put the lights on first.
I find that hilarious. I remember the Sims 2 christmas tree's catching on fire with ease all the time. They were such a big fire hazard it was ridiculous. Happy holidays to all~ "catloverplayer;c-16554652" wrote:

Oasis Springs is unable to experience snow, even if you use the weather machine.
You know SimsCommunity mentioned this in one of their videos. This maybe a bug. He was able to get it to snow lightly though but couldn't get a blizzard to start.
I actually love that the different neighborhoods have varying degrees of seasonal weather severity. I don't really see Albuquerque, New Mexico, getting snowstorms (or New Orleans, either, but that's another story)... Cologne (or Zurich or Stockholm or whatever Windenberg is supposed to be), I do picture as snowy places, though.- Anmirla8 years agoSeasoned Ace

Just a heads up for anyone playing as a detective. Make sure you get a lot more clues than just the physical description of clothes. I issued an APB and went to Oasis springs park but everyone was wearing summer clothes and I couldn't find my suspect.
That's a great point. I actually still have yet to play the detective career, but I would never have thought about Seasons affecting it that way. - keekee538 years agoSeasoned Ace

I can assure you that your assumptions about cologne are on the totally wrong track
Not only does cologne (as most other cities in northrhine westphalia) have rather few days with snow, but it also is totally unlike Windenburg.
Cologne is a regular major german city, where you also won't find all too many half-timbered houses anymore (especially since a large part of cologne was destroyed during WW2 and was rebuilt from scratch) ... the cologne dome is the only remarkable medieval structure remaining
If anything then Windenburg is modeled after southern german cities like Nuremburg, Freiburg, Augsburg or Konstanz
