I for one I have been VERY disappointed in the team and the packs lately, I have voiced my negativity A LOT...
But there is ONE thing I will NOT agree with, no one should EVER be rude and hateful giving them awful threats and calling them hateful names...
There is a line in that...We can all voice our negative feedback in a constructive manner without cussing at the team and calling them awful names...
They are human beings and they don't deserve that....so this "they did this to themselves" is not an excuse to call them awful names , etc.

A mistake is human... we all make mistakes... however, they've been heavily criticized over and over and over and over and over and over again, but still refuse to learn from their mistakes. That's not okay. If this were a one or two time thing, I'd probably agree... but this isn't new for them. I mean, seriously... how hard is it to simply gain touch with your fan base!?

EA needs to rehire the developers who worked on Sims 2 and Sims 3... because they seemed to actually know what they were doing.

I totally agree, as long as the people giving feedback are not giving them death threats or something of that matter or calling them ugly names...

Well, I haven't necessarily seen those types of comments towards them... of course death threats and personal insults are never okay... but quite a few people think ANY form of criticism is considered an "attack" against the developers. That's what I'm getting at. The simplest criticism of anything is automatically an "attack".

Yeah I think each Simmer speaks for themself and I don't think all criticism is bad. I don't like being lumped together with selfish people period regardless how they feel about the game. It is not in my character. I am an underdog and an empath.

The lockdowns are definitely getting to people. My neighbors are starting to scream at each other and at my dogs. One night I heard someone asking my neighbor if he had a gun.

This is a game, and it’s supposed to be fun! If you don’t like it, buy a different game, or give your money to charity, or buy a book. These are human beings who make the game. Treat them the way you would like to be treated if you put in six months of hard work on a project.

I was disappointed by a different expansion pack’s announcement. I deleted or edited my non-constructive comments, took a deep breath, and gave the pack a chance. I ended up really enjoying it.

Anyone else remembering the dung heap that was the old Bioware forums? Those were some of the worst forums in this regard I have ever seen. Even before the ending of Mass Effect 3 was known a good half of the posts were either pure hatred against Bioware employees or just disgusting in general. Always excused with "But we are ignored, and we are the TRUE / LOYAL fans!"

Personal attacks are never okay, however I'm not surprised this is happening considering the level of rage people are feeling about the development of this game right now. The fact that the devs have to go on twitter and act as if the game is the perfect gift doesn't really help the issue. Someone on twitter is gonna have a miserable day and then take it out on poor schmuck of a developer and boom - you get this toxic bomb going off in all directions.
Also I think that Maxis and the devs are being too sensitive in certain aspects and then the angry toxic mob gets even more riled up. The simmers that 'defend' the devs aren't really helping either, becoming just as toxic as the angry mob.
What would help is if people would be able to calmly state their opinions and feedback on the packs and the game without getting jumped by either SimGurus or other simmers. Some simmers feel a certain kind of way right now, and they have the right to. This 'stop being mean to the devs' culture only breeds toxicity, that's the truth.

EA literally sucks hundreds to thousands of dollars from us in each iteration... lol The fact that we continue paying for all of it proves how loyal we are. Here's a challenge... go back and calculate all the money you put into each iteration... and for a bonus, add all of it together at the end. Then you'll understand my point about being extremely loyal.

What I would like to know is what part of a SimGuru being told to quit their job over a pack that supposedly no one wanted (which isn't even remotely accurate) is something that they deserve or that is constructive criticism of any kind or that is just expressing an opinion.

Those kind of comments are what's absolutely unacceptable and they're not uncommon, unfortunately.
I wish I could believe that it's because of lockdowns and people being more stressed, but this is not new.

The developers always like to act as if everything's perfectly fine and the game is totally perfect, which isn't even close to being the case... at all! Also, not to mention almost ANY form of criticism is completely ignored by them... if you've ever watched their livestreams, you would know what I'm talking about. There will be many, MANY people in the comments expressing negative opinions, but they ignore almost every single one and purposely search all of those negative comments for a single positive one and respond to it.

If you're going to produce a product for the public, then expect to receive ALL forms of criticism, good or bad... and don't act like half of your fan base doesn't exist either. That's what they do, though... they ignore ANYONE who even remotely criticizes the game. Either that, or they silence them by removing their posts, comments, or banning them (which happens A LOT... especially on these forums). That's not okay!
