- I hope so! I wouldn't mind if they drove into the street and vanished!
- LuckylunayreNew SpectatorThe thought bubbles aren't hints. This has been in the game since launch, not a hint.
- AaronRulz78Seasoned NewcomerCould it just be a materialistic sim with that trait? I honestly don't know how cars will make sense in Sims 4. It made great sense in Sims 3 with it being an open world. But why need a car to go to your neighbor's house?
- icemanfreshSeasoned NewcomerI'm still holding out hope for cars in this game. :D There are still a couple of things you could do with them, gameplay-wise. And now that there's weather, I think it would make sense to drive or take a public transport vehicle when it's raining. ;)

wouldn't it be cool if they made another world they could drive too ? I kind of think so. Just one itty bitty little world they could drive on the streets of. It could have winding roads like California does. #dreaming- icemanfreshSeasoned Newcomer

If only...
I suppose in existing lots without a connected road, the car could just teleport like sims already do in the game. Owning and riding cars in this game still has a lot of storytelling and roleplaying potential in any case. - GalacticGalSeasoned Ace

Did you ever play Sims2? We had cars in that game. Since Sims4 is far more reminiscent of Sims2, I wouldn't rule out cars altogether. Yes, the thought bubble car has been in since launch, but that doesn't preclude it as a hint, necessarily. We'll just have to content ourselves with what we have in game, for now. - icemanfreshSeasoned Newcomer

what kind of scenarios ?
If they just teleport that's no fun
Yeah, I'd like for them to actually move, but not all the lots in the game have connecting roads. :(
And I usually roleplay when I play The Sims games. I could roleplay a family of 5, and owning cars would help with the immersion, because a lot of families IRL own cars. And if a storyteller player wanted to do a transition scene of sims riding from one place to another, or a scene set inside a car, it would help a lot if cars were actually in the game.
A lot of people keep saying that cars would be pointless because sims already teleport and that there's no open world, but a) not everything has to be about practical gameplay in an aesthetically-focused game like The Sims, and b) The Sims 2 had no open world and was able to pull cars off. It even had carpools in the base game! - Might she be daydreaming about those model car decorations that came with the base game? I always found it weird that they have model cars in this game, but no real cars.

yeah it kind of feels unnatural to just pop in an out.
Sims 2 does have cars and they can even refurbish them.
If they made one world connected to one of the other worlds, I'd be happy, and
I think that would work.
