Tips and Tricks for University

Ok I'm sure this has been done before but I wanted to share my tips and tricks with university. At first, I loved university and having my Sim go to the dorm and living that life and such. But then it got a little boring/annoying with all the Sims randomly bugging my Sim at bad times and such. So I finally have my Sim do university at home. But I only have her do 2 classes and she has kept her A+ average for the first half of university so far. She is also active now in school with the spirit squad. She also has a part time job at night to bring in the money to pay rent and she also plays the guitar for tips when she has time.

So my tips and tricks are to make university a little bit different:

1. Do it from home. Lot less annoying and you don't have to wait for food or anything, you have everything right there.
2. Do 2 classes if you want your Sim to have A+ average the whole time.
3. Get involved in a school club and create your own club with different friends. Yep, do both. That's what I've done and I love the different options I have for my Sim to get out and be with her friends.
4. Get a part time job if you actually want them to need money to live off of. If you want to just add money whenever you want to, you can ignore this option. I am trying to not add a whole bunch of money so it's a fun challenge and something I've never done since I found out about the cheat code.

Not sure if this'll help anyone but thought I'd share my input I've learned.

  • I locked my sims dorm room door so no one could come in except her (not even her roommate) :D I also had her cook a group meal on the grill behind the cafeteria place and keep it in the mini fridge in her room. It lasts the whole semester. Made things much easier.

I did that too. I'm big on door locks and gates around my properties so sims don't come in and annoy me. It is funny to see a sim standing at the gate for a couple of sim hours till they leave.

Now that I think of it, not sure if you could delete the door till she wants to go out, but that would be one sure option. Wonder if that would stop the repo man?
  • My Sim just finished University with straight A+ grades all the way through, taking 2, 4, 3, then 3 classes at a time. (Don't ask)

My tip? Be a spellcaster. You can fly everywhere on your broom, transportalate to any location, make infinite meals with delicioso, scruberoo yourself and your entire dorm, and if you know copypasto, make infinite copies of sleep and need potions.

Lol this is kind of a joke bc obvi not every sim is gonna be a spellcaster, but oh my did it make it so easy.
  • I've had two sims go to university and they both came back with A+. Time management is very important, when you get your assignments do them right away before the term starts. Get to class early, buy the university books to help you study if your sims don't have high skills. Be sure to always check in with your teachers. Most importantly always take notes when you are at class, this always give you a higher grade.

Also it might be best too download a dorm room off the gallery or put down items for the npc to do so that they don't annoy you. It think if you take all four classes it doesn't make room for other group events.
  • If I do two classes it will take ages so I always do 4 classes only my sim got suspended ;-; but FINALLY she graduated
  • Make sure your presentation boards are at the highest level possible (edit it until it is outstanding/excellent).Then practice giving the presentation. Do the same thing with the term papers on the computer, submit them when highest level is achieved (excellent/outstanding). Make sure you sims are either focused, energized, or confident before taking a final. Both of my sims took core classes only, no electives. They also lived at home.
