Tips for blogging?

I've recently found Sims 4 blogs, with stories and challenges and they look really fun.
I'm wanting to start a Sims blog, and I would like to know any tips for making a good, aesthetically-pleasing blog.
Names for the blog, names for stories, ideas for stories e.t.c.

Anything would be appreciated!

  • The story ideas should come from your own imagination, just like the names. I think the first step to creating a good blog is having a story in mind already. Something you want to tell and are sure of, otherwise it's something you'll throw to the wayside rather easily.

In terms of a blog being aesthetically-pleasing, it would help to look at existing blogs. Not just simlit, but also those. See what works and what doesn't, for you but also for others. Looking at popular blogs can help with that. Wordpress has some great templates to work with, although it is a bit tedious to get into. There are plenty of other blogging platforms out there, but I only have experience with Blogger and Wordpress myself. Wordpress is the one with more customization options from what I've seen.
  • If you are into learning online Skill Share has free classes.

I don't pay. I only do the free classes. I love learning.
They even have a free class called WordPress for Beginners.

Thank you! This was very helpful. Wordpress is real money and expensive, so I'm going to do Blogger. Could you perhaps message me with some tips on it? Thanks!
  • I'm don't blog very often, but I really like wordpress. It doesn't cost anything :o I think they have nice layouts, at least I was able to find one that fit my needs exactly.

If I started a new blog and new game, I would do a rotational play with maybe 4 families with interwined stories. I think it would be really cool to follow. Unfortunately I have no time to start one myself because I play 20-30 families in my game and they keep me busy.

Wordpress is free. I use it and don't pay anything. You do have to pay if you want to store images on Wordpress but instead of doing that you can use an external hosting site. I use imgur which, again, is free.

I tried signing up to wordpress, and near the beginning it said 'pick a plan' and they were all too expensive for me to use.

  • @capturethemagic The others have said it already: Wordpress is free. I think it does cost money if you want more than one blog on one email address. Having said that, you could probably figure out a way around that (?) or you could put all your stories on one blog. Right now, I only have one story so I have a whole blog dedicated to that.

I liked figuring out Wordpress on my own but there are many tutorials about it online so you could find whatever you need by googling it. It was helpful for me whenever I ran into something I didn't know how to immediately fix.
