I just experienced my first in this game - Ethan was going outside to "Investigate". No - no! What I did was type in testingcheats on - and then shift click your sim, and press the top one "reset"....

I also was hesitant to get Get to Work because of all the aliens. So far they haven't really impacted my game so far. The only alien I know of is one of the bartenders.
If you have mc command center, I believe that there is an option to "humanize all aliens", it won't stop the abductions but at least the sims walking around won't be aliens.
