Townies spawning with weird first names

First off, I have not updated my game and will not until my mods get updated.

But I am playing a decades challenge and have gotten a sudden influx of simes with odd names. To name a few, Spider Torres, Lizard Clark, and Cloud Lee. Most are teens but there are a few adult sims as well. This has never happened before and it has me utterly confused.

Any idea what it could be?
