Traits not disappearing after removing them? Bug?

Try removing all off the traits that the sim originally started with and all of the traits they currently show as being listed as having (even if you want to keep them remove them just to get a clean slate) and then re-add the ones you want up to 3 traits. I'd suggest doing a google search to find out exactly what they're called in the game because they do sometimes have different names.

ETA: Looks like you got it figured out so yay for that!

I don't think it has been fixed, as if I hover over their relationship panel, it still shows their old traits. How do I repair my game?

Are the old traits still showing in their simology panel? If they are, then they will continue to get moodlets associated with the traits.
Try seeing again if you can remove those traits using the cheats.

To repair the game,right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

I had the same thing happen in my game and talked about it. Someone said it was my Mods...and all I had to do was move them and reset everything...fun thing was I wasn't using mods or cc and it still happens. I put sim in world from the gallery and play for a few then go and change the traits in CAS and they seem to get the same + and - moods from the old traits, I played with that sim for a month, still no mods or cc but they still got the same moodlets. Footnotes, now I use mods and cc and I still get the same thing from the changed traits and I think it's cool to have 6 traits over the 3 we are allowed.

Even though she has never had the geek trait, perhaps try using the cheat to remove that trait and see if that may help

This is a major problem and very annoying. If I want them to go a different path it will not let them or makes it very difficult.
