Triplets

I am wondering how to have triplets. On the Ley Line isn't working for me to have more than just twins. I am going to use the fertile trait obviously but any other tips?

  • Honestly, I’d try using everything at once. If you have the Spa Day pack, you can go to the spa and get a “Fertility Massage” or whatever it’s called. It will make your sim more fertile for 12 hours whilst also increasing the chances for triplets. I’m sure there’s probably a whole lot of other things through other packs that may help, too! I’ve had one of my sims have triplets by surprise, but it was just from using the Fertile trait. I hope this helps in some way!
  • yeah, try the massage out as AriaMad2 suggested, alongside the lot trait and reward trait and hope for the best! I ended up with triplets recently despite not trying for them. a very big whoopsie for my already busy household.
  • Hi! I'm new to the site and just recently managed triplets, which is why I decided to make an account - to share with others how I did it! I'm so excited! I was having terrible trouble with it because I wanted the "triple play" trophy, because I'm trying to earn all the trophies. It was a tedious process to find what works. Let me be specific - my sim(s) probably went through at least twenty pregnancies and it was so frustrating because I would try something new with every pregnancy in order to achieve the triplets - AND I bought expansion packs and game packs just to do it! Lol XD I don't get how people can be so patient to actually do the 100 baby challenge! Turns out I didn't need the expansion packs or game packs, but I don't regret them because they're fun!

First off - both my male and female *adult* sims had the fertility trait before trying for a baby and all I got was either single births or twins. Then I learned that since *adult* sims have lower fertility chances, I decided I would use their *young adult* son and another *young adult* woman sim in order to achieve triplets.

So... I created a new household of a twin brother and a twin sister (both young adults, of course) and I moved them into "bargain bend." I created them as twins just for the off chance that it may increase their chances of multiples. I know I could have added them to my current household, but I did it this way for other reasons. Then I went into 'manage households' and added the female twin to my current household. I also moved my sims young adult daughter into bargain bend with the male twin - just so I'd have enough room for multiples - enough room for 4 new family members (my reasoning behind this is that I wasn't sure if the game wouldn't want to give me triplets if there was just enough room for them - please forgive my logic! lol).

Before getting the female twin pregnant by my sims' son, I got their friendship bar and romance bar all the way up and got them married.

Again, I tried multiple different ways for multiples (not saving progress while she was pregnant if I gave them the fertility trait). I tried the "Elixir of Fertility" (Outdoor Retreat Game Pack) many times, having my sim drink it once right before pregnancy, once for every term, and once before birth. It didn't do anything! My sim had multiple single births with it and the worst part is that I had to get to level ten herbalism skill and track down Will-O-the-Wisp... five times. Upon drinking it, it didn't give a moodlet either, so I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't even increase any chances of multiples.

I also purchased the City Living Expansion Pack so I could try out the 'On Ley Line' lot trait. This is awesome for twins, but only twins! Again, multiple times I've tried this - I even tried taking it away while they tried for baby and then adding it back once she found out she was pregnant (and while both parents had the fertility trait) to see if it would add on a baby or two to the pregnancy. It only produced twins.

I also tried having my pregnant sim watch the kid's network, read children's books, and listen to the kid's radio station to no accord. Only single births and twins.

So! Here's what worked: I didn't bother using the 'On Ley Line' house trait or the Elixir of Fertility. All I did was give the father the fertile rewards trait before trying for baby, then I (of course) kept my pregnant sim happy, had her listen to kid's radio and watch the kid's network (because it's still worth a shot) and then as soon as she transitioned to her third trimester and gained her third trimester belly, that's when I gave her the 'fertile' rewards trait! She had identical girl triplets. I didn't bother with influencing gender (carrots for boys, strawberries for girls), I just left it up to chance just in case so it wouldn't interfere with the chance of multiples.

If you're still trying for triplets and you decide to try this, let me know how it goes! I know it's still left to chance, but it'd be cool to see if this got any other successes.
