It's not a bug. Why would anyone think it'd be a bug?

Er, because it's a really dumb design decision so some people assume it's some type of unintended error. And no, I'm not buying that it's set up this way in order to be realistic because in the real world a person would never become a mixologist and then a chef. I'm playing a game where people who die return to float around and get married, it only takes a few hours to become a best-selling author, babies poof into children, and no one in my town is aging. I'm not looking for realism here.

It's not unintended, it's not a bug, it's a design decision.
Real world aside, let's not mix careers and skills in the game. You can max all skills on one sim. You just can't specialize in both career branches.

That's awful. Now I can't finish both the Food Aspirations. :( I'll see if I can find some cheat or mod to change the branch.

But doesn't some parts of this game require the one Sim complete both branches of some careers? I have read where people couldn't complete something because they can't switch, it was too late.

But if they have to cheat to do it then it's a bad game design or not fully thought through of how it should work so they could complete the Aspiration.

If a Sim can have more than one career per lifetime, they should be able to have more than one career in the same category. If it's not a bug it's a poorly thought-out design choice.

Well, someone who becomes a level 10 mixologist can still become a master chef, just not vice versa. I think that's inconsistent.

It doesn't bother me much but it's nice to have the option to buy the emotion drinks, even if they are ridiculously expensive. It's a good money sink for very rich sims.

Oh, if they can go from mixologist to chef but not from chef to mixologist, that's got to be a bug because it makes no sense.

It sucks!!! I wanted to unlock everything without cheating with one sim but then I got stuck on this because I chose the cooking branch!!! its total plum!!!!
