University - Townie sims complete Uni?

This might have been asked/answered on here somewhere already, but I did look. Sorry if it has, could you direct me there if that is the case.

Will townie sims join uni on their own? Or if you set them up and then leave them to it will they carry on?

Also if you are rotating households will your played sims complete uni without you directing them?

I've only ever done it with the sim I'm playing

Thanks

ahhh what a bummer, I want some of my sim to be able to meet graduated uni friends when she moves on. Hmmm might have to cheat. Didn't really want to do that.
  • I play a rotational game and have popped into households such as the Pancakes, Caliente etc and discovered the occasional sim who is part way through uni without me enrolling them.

I have also enrolled a sim and then left them to it. If I return to them after a sim week it usually gives me an immediate option to enrol them for the next term and they generally have a B grade or something near that. I have only ever come across one sim who was on probation.
  • In fact I think you have a bigger chance of screwing them over if you interact with them. It is very very easy to get them to miss classes if you talk to them during school hours.

Oh, so that's why! That's good to know.

(In the last week of uni I checked on my sims' fellow students and except for one girl with a D+ they were all on academic probation. But I interacted a lot with them, took them to club outings or invited them to my house. I didn't know the game really plays those students, I thought it simply assigned them average grades. Anyway, taking the failing townies under my wing for the last week helped them all get their degrees.)

From what I've heard, using the degree cheats will break your save, so I think pretending they're uni friends is a much safer option.
  • Sorry if this is not the right place to ask, but I have tried for some time to get my sim into the secret society, and I can't succeed. What am I doing wrong? He has found some exclusive items - plants and crystals and offered them to the statues at both places, but noone comes around to pick him up at night. He is sleeping in a double bed with his girlfriend. Is it because he needs to sleep in a single bed?
