- I do have the pack. I have issues with it too. I think a teen sim should be able to graduate high school early and go to college to start with, I think a teen sim should be able to apply to the university they want so when they age up they can start immediately. I am not too impressed with it, I don't like that it feels like I have to expand my sims YA life stage so that they can start college as YA instead of waiting until they are adults to finally be accepted into University.
- Isn't the whole point of university is to study? I mean, sure - you can take less classes and all.
It should be difficult to not get flunked out. Otherwise what's the point? - I usually give them 2 courses per term and never had a sim fail any, I think the lowest I got was a B-.
I make them do their homework immediately after the class and finish and refine any papers/presentations as soon as possible (I usually enroll them at a friday so they have the whole weekend for that), have them either study or do an activity that earns the skill of the classes in their freetime every now and then.
Yes, they have only little time for parties (but they do have them!) and are mostly occupied with study and course related stuff but hey, that's Uni! - Depending on what day you start the term, it can be difficult to get everything done, especially if you have 3-4 classes. I usually aim for the term to start on either Wednesday or Thursday, that way they have the whole weekend to get stuff like term papers or presentations done. I've only had my students take 2 classes at a time, and I've always managed to get A+ on everything. When they go to class, choose the "take notes" tone, which will also improve their grades without requiring extra work outside of class. Each course has a skill associated with it, and that skill will slowly increase as you go to class, do homework, work on projects, study, etc, but you can also build the skill independently and that's supposed to help your grade, as well.
As for the university extracurriculars, I had one student on the soccer team, and that made things more difficult because she had practice or a game just about every evening, which cut into her available time to do schoolwork. I had another student on the debate team, which was a lot easier because you don't necessarily need to go to the practices, bar night, etc, so you have a bit more freedom and flexibility to prioritize schoolwork. - cb2342z6 years agoSeasoned AceSitting here mildly distracted from accounting homework; I think it's exactly the way it's supposed to be.
- But if you take only 2 courses a term it will take like 6 sim week !!! How fun is it to spend 6 weeks just doing homework and term paper ?! I feel like I am missing something here. My experience so far this has to be the worst expansion pack in sims 4. :(

It is 6 sim weeks, but you're not just spending that time doing homework and term papers and presentations. With the light schedule, it frees my sim up to explore other things: extracurriculars, college life, festivals, holidays (though I have to go in and edit holidays to not have the day off from work/school if I happen to have a class on that day, especially if it's the last class of the term). I can visit other worlds and lots, as long as I pay attention to when their classes are so we don't miss them. I work on other aspirations and skill building that would be difficult if I instead spent those 6 weeks simply grinding away at work.
I would assume (I will probably do this with my next college student) that if you enroll on a Tuesday or Wednesday, so the first day of term is Wendesday or Thursday, it would still be relatively easy to take three or four classes at once, because you have the whole weekend to work on things.- akaniki6 years agoRising AceI played triplets that went to university together and took a full load. They were excepted on Friday so they had all weekend before they had to go to class. I had them all do their term papers Friday night, their presentation board on Saturday and refined them both on Sunday ( plus practice their presentation and turn in term paper ).
Depending on what time their 1st. class was, they each did their presentations on Monday ( the pause button is your best friend ). For the rest of the week, when they go to class, I selected for each of them to take notes. Half way through class, I selected for them to listen attentively. When they were done with classes for the day they went home (university housing not a dorm ), put them in seperate rooms and had them do all of their homework. Fruit in their inventiries and a couple of bathroom breaks will help. Never be late to class.
This was a real tedious process that I will never do again but they all graduated with honors in 3 weeks. At least it will seem like a breeze when I send only 1 sim there. - logionX6 years agoLegendI don't find it too difficult. Especially not if you improve the research and debate skill which will make you finish your homework faster. I think that in order to do good though you have to play the game in a very boring way. The sims4 is not very engaging if you are just focusing on completing tasks.
- LadyGray016 years agoSeasoned AceI found it hard and tedious when my sim took 4 classes one term. I struggled to get a B-. But then I switched to only doing two at a time.
Yes, it made it take longer to graduate. But it gave me plenty of time to complete homework and term papers, study in each subject, build some skills, and go out and have fun. I just approached it like that was my life goal for that particular Sim. She graduated with an A.
It will probably be awhile before I send another Sim, or I'll send one to fail on purpose.
I will agree that University itself doesn't offer much in the way of fun. You have to go out and use other game stuff. I miss the toga parties, random streakers, mascots, and secret societies from Sims 2.
