Unpopular Opinions - Likes Kits

I like kits because it's a chance to sell some niche elements that might not get thrown into a pack, or those items that didn't make the cut when a pack was made. It's also easy to pick up the ones I like and just ignore the rest. I have a lot of kits, but there are also a lot I don't own, simply because they don't fit my game. 

I'd wish they'd do more niche packs, like historic packs, but also just things that are missing in game (like coats! more kids clothes, men's clothes...).

Redrogue60  I love kits too!  To your kit I would add a children’s log wood toy box, and a wooden log box for adults to store things in ( about all of my sims have some kind of storage box, and I love them all to have something different ).  A little wooden bear toy for children to play with would be a nice idea too and how about a toddler bed , child’s bed and crib made to resemble the adult wood bed that comes in outdoor retreat. New ice chest ( maybe one that looks like it’s about beaten up. ).   And, as far as functional new items go, I think our fishermen need a bucket to throw live fish in while fishing so they don’t go bad while they are fishing off of the home lot ( it could function like a fridge but just for storage of fish ).   Also, it would be nice to make the ice chests function where you can put food items in and take them out like a fridge.  I wouldn’t mind paying the price of a stuff pack if they added the new functional items. And the new recipe’s.

I think kits are great though I certainly don't love all of them. I'd kill for a kit that was nothing but LONG hairstyles.

I love kits, too! And, my unpopular opinion...I LOVE Bust the Dust. I love that my house gets dusty and I have chores that need to be done. I put a cleaning day on my seasons calendar, lol. And I'm so not a neat person in real life, but in Sims I get to be.

I'm so loving Storybook Nursery, especially the rocking chair.

I like the concept but if I were in charge I'd tweak it so that we'd get a new functional Buy object or work something in that was more than just decorative things or items we already have. If I had my way I would use Kits as a way to positively address constructive criticism leveled at various EP's, GP's, & SP's. Particularly the quite old ones. For example:

I'd make a kit called Cosy Cabin Kit and it would have :

• Build Items 
  • Split Log Staircase & Railings that would go better in the Outdoor Retreat cabins
  • New Wall Paint - Log Cabin Texture in light & dark color swatches 
    • 1 for Second Story
    • 1 for First Story that has a bit of the Foundation River Stone on the bottom 
    • 1 for the River Stone Foundation
    • 1 Full Wall of the River Stone Foundation
  • River Rock Fireplace (Texture matches foundation) with Mantle and space for Fire Irons on one side and a space for Firewood Decor on the other. Full Wall and allows a TV/Mirror/Painting/Antlers/Fish to be mounted  
  • River Rock Chimney decorative piece to match
  • Exposed Wood Beam for interior
  • Exterior Post & Beam Roof Decor 
  • Front Door that would be appropriate for the aesthetic maybe with Post & Beam Trim Door or something with carved Elk 
  • Wood Ceiling Texture
• Buy Items 
  • Birdhouse that matches the cabin aesthetic 
  • Copper Farmhouse Sink 
  • Cowhide Sofa Set from the earlier Sims 1 & 2
  • The Deer Antler Lighting Set from same
  • The Faux Bear Skin Rug with the same interactions from Sims 1 
  • Hammock 
  • Log Roller & Axe Throwing activities from Sims 2 Bon Voyage  
  • Outdoor Shower (For a nice cabin not a campground) 
  • Redwood Hot Tub
  • Tree Stump with hatchet where you can actually Chop Wood & Firewood Rack Decorative Object
  • Tree Trunk Cross Section from Bon Voyage whose name escapes me 
• New Food  
  • Biscuits & Gravy
  • Cornbread Recipe in 4 Flavors
    • Blueberry 
    • Regular
    • Southwestern
    • Tomato  
  • Steak & Eggs with Hashbrowns
  • Trail Mix

•  Because it would have 4 new Buy Items with interactions (And slightly larger than the average kit but smaller than a Stuff Pack) I'd charge $7.99 with a $2 credit if you purchased Outdoor Retreat already or together at checkout. 

• Also as a small extra incentive for this pack if you get this pack and the pack (Seasons?, Holiday Celebration?) that has the Christmas Tree that you decorate yourself it unlocks a new decorative aesthetic for the tree, Buffalo Check.  

I like kits. It gives something to look forward to between larger packs. 

I love the kits! I find them to be a cheap way to improve the environment of your sims lives. I also like realistic and fantasy clutter in my game for storytelling or screenshots.

I like kits. I don't own any of the CAS ones, but I own all the BB ones except Bust the Dust. I don't have any qualms about dropping $5, whereas I rarely feel like I can justify the cost of the packs. They remind me of the Collections that we used to be able to get with Sims 2 that were separate from the SPs, EPs, and the Store edition. Those were like kits. The Sims 3 store had something kind of similar with the sets you could buy, although I'm pretty sure I got less for my $5 worth of Simpoints that store used.

I absolutely adore kits! Regular little packs of DLC without having to wait for a new EP/GP? Yes please! Plus there are so many varieties that you can pick and choose your favourites. Mine are: Throwback Fit; Incheon Arrivals, Moonlight Chic, Little Campers and First Fits!
