I've always used them as Honeymoon locations. I also have summer and winter vacation holidays in my game, and use the rental lots then too. I mostly use Sulani and Mt. Komorebi. In one of my saves, I had all of the lots in both worlds as rental lots. I found I played in those worlds more when I did that.
