That's the reward for keeping the floor pristine. An alternative reward should be sought otherwise the kit is not worth the money.
And if you have toddlers or children in the house, they will constantly make a mess. This was such a huge inconvenience that I had to learn to mod the game just to get it to stop. They'd make a mess and make another one while getting in trouble. That's definitely not a perma-buff I ever want to have in a house full of kids.
