So planning for the HS pack, I imagined having a well off family in a nice house and two kids (teen and child). Usually I always do some sort of rags to riches gameplay but I wanted to focus on my teen and not the parents struggling to make money. So I built a nice big house from scratch and moved in my family, cheated the parents careers to Top 8 level of both Lawyer and Chef and my teen male and child female sim. After one day of playing, I'm already overwhelmed even when I try to ignore the parents because of their needs (as well as the child). I wanted a child so she can grow up to teen and I can play a different type of teen with her thats different from her party animal older brother. Should I just kill off the parents? lol. Whats the consensus here? Are you playing a big family or you just have a teen and one parent? I'm thinking about what to do.

I had / have just one teen. You can do like me and save your sims to your library just before aging anybody. That way you can go back and your sims will still keep any reward traits they earned if they completed a aspiration before aging them.

I'm playing teen communal lots, kinda like they're at boarding school. It makes it easier for me to queue needs. This way I can fully focus on the pack. If I want, I can always move them back in with their parents but I'm enjoying it more this way right now

I haven't tried I have a child and a toddler. :D

Oh or if you have vampires you could turn parents into vampires and put them on eternal hibernation if thats better :blush:

I am playing a big family.

I moved the Bjergsen's to Copperdale and they took on two foreign exchange students from Komorebi.
2 adults, 3 children and 2 exchange students.

I am only focusing on the teens and not bothering with the others.
They spend most of their time at school, at the Boba tea shop or cybercafe, or the student center that used to be the town library.
To prevent needs from getting overwhelming, I just cheat needs at the mailbox in the morning. It doesn't bother me.
I do manage needs through the day, but if everyone is falling out of balance I just cheat them at the start of the day.

You could divorce the parents and only have one live there.

You could send the parents on a business trip and the child to imaginary grandparents, and let the party begin. Since teens can live alone, you can move the other three into a household of your choice via household management and just play the teen for a while. Myself I get bored with single sim households quickly, so that wouldn't be for me.

I started my Glass family before the High School pack came out and I waited until the pack dropped before I went back to that family. At the time, the daughter was a teen and the son was a child. Now they are both in high school and they are both getting on my nerves lol. I've been considering killing off this family and starting from scratch but decided not to because life, even Sim life, isn't perfect or easy.

I, personally wouldn't kill them off. Nothing wrong with a little challenge.
