What’s your thoughts on Micro worlds / Hidden worlds?

Personally, I really don’t like them as I try to give each world a theme and it’s super difficult to make it worthwhile when you only have 4/5 lots. I think the minimum Lots should be 7/8.

For example, Magnolia Promenade, only has 4 lots which is kinda frustrating. It should’ve just been added or merged with Willow Creek so we had one big world?

I find it difficult to use Forgotten Hollow / Glimmerbrook meaningfully as well because of this reason. I wish they’d stop adding micro worlds or just merge with them existing ones instead.

Also, I don’t really like the Hidden Worlds, for example, The Magic Real is stunning, so beautiful but it’s such an effort having to travel to it from Glimmerbrook. I wish the Magic Realm could’ve just been a destination world or a world we could actually live in cause it’s stunning.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on micro worlds? I wouldn’t mind them as much if they were 7/ 8 lots minimum.

  • I don't mind them that much, because bigger worlds are subdivided into the smaller neighbourhoods and they are designed to look a bit different from each other, so small worlds feel like a sub neighbourhood anyway. I have kept Magnolia Promenade as a shopping district in my game but I would have liked to be able to fit more shops in it. Glimmerbrook looks like an upscale neighbourhood but if you want to add some upscale community venues like a restaurant or a spa, there aren't many lots left for housing, so yes, it would be better to have a minimum of 7-8, maybe even 10 lots per neighbourhood.

The more the better. I also prefer big worlds for obvious reasons.

But i do use micro worlds like forgotten hollow. For me it really depends on the world itself. Forgotten hollow is beautiful imo and has this different and interesting sun cycle so i use it a lot. On the other side magnolia promenade hasn't got my attention at all...

About hidden worlds so far i have only been once to sylvan glades (is it the name? I can't remember well...). But i won't be back soon cause i agree with you. It's just too much work to go there.
  • I wish they were larger but I like the fact that most of them have their own character. Magnolia Promenade, however, is dull.
  • I love small world size tbh like even with big worlds i pretty much treat windenburg island and sulani volcano island as separate kingdoms of their own and ignore rest of the world like even tho rest of world is pretty they start adding limiting things like shell houses in the middle when it gets big

the only problem i have with forgotten hollow is that there is nothing to do outside of lot

so you either have to build some public places or ur just gonna keep wondering why nonvampire townies even come to that world

+ i also wish all those graves were real and I could interact

visually its cool tho i love victorian stuffs and gothic stuffs so I use it a lot

glimmerbrook the problem is those weird driveways and the constant magic portal making sounds and all driving me crazy
haven't really realized what I want to build there yet and i feel like colors are weird there

as for magnolia... never use it cause im not fan of the style in that world they should have just ditched magnolia and made sixam actual world retail is more fun in other worlds anyway and aliens want home

hidden lots... should appear as regular lots once found tbh like once you find those ur unlikely to go through trouble to find them again
  • I like different size worlds, like the way they are now. I don't want anything to change, my game would lag like crazy if the worlds would all be bigger.
  • Totally hate them but use them because I have no choice. Hate micro words and tiny lots. Totally kills creativity. And I play with lots of vampires so forgotten hallow does not cut it.

Hidden worlds are the WORST. I was so frustrated not too long ago that we can't live in them or destination worlds. Especially for my fantasy storyline my sims have nowhere exotic to live but all of these worlds dangling in front of my face like a carrot. I just don't understand why we can't live in them. What's the point to visit and fish or something. ?

And as a spellcaster I want to live in a place that looks like the magic realm!!! ?

I was horrified when I first heard the title "tiny living" lol
  • I found them all to be kinda frustrating.

Sylvan Glade (Base Game, Willow Creek): Okay, it's gorgeous, has a great spot for fishing and capturing frogs, and it's just simply cool as it's typically the first hidden world most of us find. What frustrated me was I can't live there and I was hoping it was like an easter egg telling us we'll be getting fairies soon and can build our own lots like this. Nope.

Forgotten Grotto (Base Game, Oasis Springs): Once again it's beautiful, has a great fishing spot (only place you can score the elusive Batfish), good mining for crystals/metals, a few frogs, but that's really about it.

Sixam (Get to Work, rocketship or wormhole): It's a great place to meet aliens, if you're into that sort of thing, and complete certain collections. Once you've completed the collections, which doesn't take long, unless you for whatever reason need to meet aliens there's really no reason to return. Would be nice if you could build something there, like a business.

Deep Woods (Outdoor Retreat, Granite Falls): Some rare plants, rare fishing, only place you can score certain bugs to complete that collection, and the hermit will teach you something new once a friend (also unlock a secret Trophy/Achievement if you invite him into your home), but once you've exhausted all that it's over. I love the hermit's house, and was disappointed to discover you can't live there permanently. but you can stay there for the duration of your vacation if you want (and don't mind sharing with a strange hermit). It's got everything one needs for staying a prolonged period of time; bed, refrigerator, stove, campfire, but it's not really outfitted for multiple sims (only one single bed). If you have access to this, then you probably own tents, so that can solve that issue. Because of the house that allows anyone full access, I think this is the best secret area of the ones I've discovered.

Here's my biggest frustration with these areas; even after you unlock them you still have to travel to their area to access them. What I mean is, for example the Sylvan Glade, after I unlock the area by interacting with the tree and then succeeding in the tree's events and discovering the grove, if I ever want to return I still first have to go to Willow Creek and then select the tree to get to Sylvan Glade. I wish it opened up Sylvan Glade on the map to bypass the extra loading time.
