What Career(s) Do You Usually Go With, and What Are the Career(s) You Stay Away From?

Most of my Sims don't have careers, but the ones that do are usually business owners (nightclubs, restaurants, etc). I do have one non-business career Sim, and he's a crooked cop

Most of my Adult sims are retired after I give them the highest career level so that they can pursue other interests.

I have a lot of writers but I generally try to have sims among the different careers, so it's mostly a case of having not tried one yet.

I haven't done the maker careers from EL or the style influencer yet but I probably will.

I have a few designated villains who are criminals, sometimes I enhance the criminality with cheats.

I'd say that I avoid playing a "Youtuber" or media influencer. I have a few Get Famous actors but I've avoided having a focus on making money through uploading videos.

modern ones like the influencer careers just really don't sit right with my playstyle so i never choose those

I often do business career cause i like the objects

or then like some creative one

also avoid careers where i have to do lots of task things that require meeting other sims & active careers because its just annoying having to find sims and whatever when you have large family of sims to control so i will only play those if i have 1-2 sims and i actually feel like doing tasks

I don't like the City Living stay at home careers, due to too much traveling around the city required. Also the politician career irritates the introvert in me when my sims have to socialize that much. I love the acting career and really like the scientist career. The rabbithole careers I am pretty neutral about, although I kind of prefer the "out there" ones like astronaut and secret agent.

Stay at home careers or detective or vet, conservationist or archaeologist

I've never had a criminal. I probably have 100s of career mods in my game, so I have a lot of variety. I love the active careers, especially scientist, so they may be overrepresented. I have lots of varieties of musicians too.

Since I got, DU, I always seem to end up with a surplus of sims in the Law career! Since they pay well and you can work from home most of the time, they're pretty great for when you need to have all the adults in your household bringing in a steady income, but you're also raising toddlers at the same time.

I really enjoy designing outfits for other sims using the Style Influencer career paths, so I've always got about three sims per generation working on those careers, but I actively avoid the Politician careers (there's just so much SOCIALISING involved!) and having too many sims in Education - sure, it pays well and you can work from home, but if you really need to work from home and you get the daily task of convincing someone to donate money to your cause? /GROAN
I can't go out and harass sims for charity in the PARK, boss; I've gotta stay home and teach my toddler how to potty. Ask the maid? Do you know how many times I've already asked the maid?

I think I have a pretty even mixture of Sims across all careers.

But I notice that I tend to gravitate towards creativity-related careers (eg. painter, writer, style influencer).

Also, my personal preference is for the semi-active careers (eg lawyer, politician, style influencer) as they offer you the flexibility of keeping your Sims home when you need/want them or sending them into a rabbit hole when you need/want to concentrate on other Sims instead.

For teens I favour Lifeguard and labourer, the rest are too time-consuming.

I don’t like all the reports for the Business and Secret Agent careers but it’s not as bad at the higher levels. Crime doesn’t pay very well so I don’t bother with that but otherwise I will play most. If I have a SIM I am very focused on I will try to have the other partner do a rabbit hole or go to work more so I can go to work or work from home with the one that interests me.
