- I would like to see what others do too. I play similar to how I did in Sims 3. Just trying to go through many generations.
- I play rotational and only 1 day in each household before I swap. That keeps me from getting bored. I play 3 extra days during pregnancies, and I find the last day or 2 getting either boring, or I am just anxious to see the other families :)
- I pretty much write a story. I find sims staying in a relationship (romantic) with the same sim all the time gets boring in this game.
So you could have cheating perhaps? Add spice to it. If you're bored, move bac to a previous game. - loubyloulou10 years agoSeasoned AceHave your Sims start a challenge. There are lots of interesting ones here:
http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/788042/list-of-challenges-legacy-and-other-for-sims-4/p1 - Normally I just create a family, play a little and start a new save, which bored me. So I started to create a sim I really loved and I just wanted to play out her life (she was born ingame), thing that helps, maybe fullfil all their skills and dream job(s)!
I think a challenge is really nice too, but I always screw them up and then I have to start over :D
What @Merleawe91 said, make up a story in your mind. This may sound really weird, but just pretend to be a youtuber, inside your head. For some reason this can be really entertaining since you're more into your sims lives this way. Or maybe weird jokes while playing, it might keep you a bit more entertained  "Jaaix;849518" wrote:
So I started off with a family and got them all jobs, but lately it has been so boring lately, I work on their jobs, go to sleep, take care of needs, and go to work. I constantly do this and I was just wondering what other people do to spice up their sim's lives.
Well, this is the story of TS4. Unless you have the GP's there is literally nothing cool to do outside. Those bars or whatever are boring. Maybe you can search for some pool lots in the gallery and have your Sim go to swim. It's pretty much the best you can do outside (that is not related to work/retails). http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-confused005.gif- I do things like take the sims to the bar, or go fishing, do things together, if you have Outdoor Retreat go camping. I have plenty of things in my backyard for Sims to do like go in the spaceship or get massages. I love my sims being active so I do a lot of working out like jogging, and fishing and sometimes take the kids to the park. Pick up some new skills if you don't have it all like painting and photography.
Now recently I'm having the parents argue a lot, and might have one have an affair and let the other spouse witness it. Just create a story, sometimes make the needs drop down to orange level so you can do some things. I'm pretty lenient on energy and hunger, I can let those drop a good amount before filling those needs so I can do other things. - MDianaSims10 years agoSeasoned AceTo add to the suggestion of making a story, think of a book you read or a film you've seen - try to re-create a story like that and see how it develops, often it turns out quite differently than you think it would.
You could also choose to send your Sim(s) to a community lot and let them walk around by themselves with free will on - see what happens and maybe there's something you can work with, like a new love interest, friendship with an interesting Sim or a new enemy (do prevent your Sims from killing themselves, unless that's the kind of twist you like in your story ;)) - My Sims always have a story attached to them. That's how I stop myself from getting bored. As mentioned above, I even imagine conversations over meals. But when I get bored of my Sims, there's a couple ways I try to spice things up:
1. Get someone pregnant. This is especially fun for me when money is tight, as I imagine my Sims freaking out over supporting the kid.
2. Make someone have an affair.
3. Make sure freewill is on and send my Sims to the park. Watch what they do.
4. Meet someone new. They may be a new romantic interest, new friend, etc.
5. Change one of the more boring Sim's traits to make them more "interesting".
6. Use a trait randomizer and move someone new into the house. Or move them int the neighborhood and have the family I'm bored of interact with them.
That's all I can think of for now. - I started with my parents and I as a child.
Turned off aging.
Played with the items only children get.
Did every child aspiration.
Maxed my first careers as the parents
Grew / Grafted every plant to perfection
Put full grown plants in inventory
Aged to teen at birthday party
Got part time job
Collected all fish, frogs, minerals, crystals
Aged up to young adult at birthday party
Collected all postcards and prints
Moved into house by myself
Maxed astronaut / smuggler
Maxed all skills
Did a couple aspirations
Finished every other collection
Maxed scientist
Painted every painting in game (used skill cheats for low level paintings)
Crafted every herbalism potion
Crafted every invention as a scientist
Crafted every tainted / pure serum
Crafted ambrosia
Grew 2 cow plants, killed one and put other in family inventory
Filled the town with every promotional sim added to the gallery by

Built a recreated version of the red rendezvous from sims 3 and added it to the gallery before plopping it down in magnolia promenade
Built a basement with all my crafted items and collectables and saved it to the gallery to use as a future building resource.
Made my friends in CAS
Made my Girkfriend, her sister, and parents
Made her friends
Added them to newcrest
Moved into giant real world style home.
Made friends with my newly created friends. Moved them in and maxed their careers (unlocking career outfits and items for MY sim)
The plan is to just fiddle around and do every career, aspiration, and non legacy achievement before the next expansion hits.
