- How to keep my sims game from boring me to tears - is dream about how good it could be, then make more new sims, form a new story in my head for them, make them a new house and stay with in their budget, and make them earn money to turn their simple abode into their dream house - that usually last all about 3 sims days and by then I want to pull all my hair out a strand at a time because of the monotony - so I shut off the game and go play one of my many years old Sims 3 save games where all kinds of stuff is going on, or I go play some of my still in redevelopment save games I have growing in Sims 2 and try to forget Sims 4 even exists for rest of the week. That goes on for another week or two, then I can try again in Sims 4, make another new set of sims, another house, same-o, same-o. As I really hate it I cannot seem to go back to sims I was playing in Sims 4. The game will allow it of course, it is my brain that won't allow it as it reminds me of how the story I pictured for my sim was not happening no matter how hard I tried - so like a dummy I try a do over thinking a new idea will work - and as usual ends just like the previous 30 ideas. Funny though I have no issues playing old saves and households in Sims 2 or 3 - infact get anxious to go back to them all.
- Cmehnt10 years agoSeasoned Ace1.) Try to ship two sims I like together and watching them reject each other romantically
2.) Many, many babies
3.) Constant rotating
I suggest the MC Command Center mod since it made my game interesting because the mailman got like 5 of my girls pregnant and my "child befriender" sim actually knocked up young girls as well :grimace: - I talk to my sims.... and yes, sometimes they talk back!...lol Seriously, I talk to, aww, coo and goo over them. Sometimes I even throw a few choice words at them..., I guess you could say, I treat them like family. :p
- I went back to playing TS3. ;)
But I've been reading the House Challenge (I think that's what it's called.) It looks interesting. I may give TS4 yet another try with that challenge.
EDIT: It's called the Drifter Challenge. Here is the link. http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/819099/the-drifter-challenge-house-001-rules/p1 - SilentK00810 years agoSeasoned AceI create stories for them and run personal challenges for myself. I have 6 families that are my mains but I play all my sims pretty much. Don't have a fixes schedule, depends on what story I feel like focusing on or if I want to build, fish, play one of the mains or the townies.
1) No half-alien sims until my own played alien sim and her ghost husband has returned him to the living and had a natural heir. After that, if I want a new additional alien family I have to go to Sixam first with a sim and get a alien. Send a sim who either meets up a new friend or lover and brings them home. If there can be max two alien children born per generation and family how will my town look a few generations away.
2) I can only build on a lot where a main family lives and they have eran the money themselves, I like to live in the build so it suits my playstyle.
3) No aquarium until a sim has finished the angler-aspiration. If that sim sets up a shop with fishes and aquariums then others can buy them there. Got the Spa Day-pack day one and I'm still waiting, gotten halfway. Since I won't be able to spend time on a store right now that one aquarium my angler sim will get will be very precious.
4) Yoga-class once during the weekend, I play one of my mains and take them to the Spa for the evening
5) My Scientist sim is preparing for taking a the children in my game on a science-trip to Granite Falls. Will modify a house for them. Will be fun to see how the kiddos interact, now she is getting to now them first so they are friends before leaving. Granite Falls is the exemption from my build-rules. Will one day have a sim start out there and build a new lot from scratch. Look forward to it.
6) There are always children in my game, I create kids in CAS for some sims to adopt via manage family or I let townies with a romance bar have their own child with genetics. Child or teenager. Love playing around with genetics.
I am still working on the same little town after almost 300 hrs of playing. Had to move everything over to a new save from scratch at one point. Brought my town over in groups of eight so everyone would have some family and friends.
I got so many little challenges and stories running, it's always fun to play for me
Wall-o-text here. Hope you find one that suits your game OP - Queendess10 years agoRising ScoutI play rotational so I play my neighborhood as a whole. Setting up the stories for each household and play out how each family interacts with each other. I also make sims from games/tv to spice things up abit and make my own stories for them. And as for places for them to visit, I have made a simple community pool, a space museum and a neighborhood garden. With just the base game, I work with what I got, lol.
- PsychoSimXX10 years agoNew SpectatorI am so bored with the lack of group activities that I just build until we get some group activities. {This ne EP might change that if it has enough for me to buy.) In the mean time I am taking me sweet plum time to create a story and build lots to go with the story.
- Hermitgirl10 years agoSeasoned AceI play on story lines in my head mostly, so if my creative lightbulb goes out for a bit I stop playing. Sometimes it comes back by doing other things or reading something and I get an idea and then I'm back in.
I am really churning out ideas with this new EP revolving around the group/club dynamic... so currently I'm redoing a town for it with some ideas in mind now. - I recommend you try all kinds of house set ups and see which works best. Personally I am a single sim player and I get really bored playing with families. When you have a set up you like have a big goal and try and works towards it as this gives your sims something to work towards. Right now my sim is slowly setting up her own art gallery. She has to earn the money as well and she also creates the paintings on her own so it's a slow but fun process.
P.S I've been playing her house for 3 months straight and she is on her second long lifespan (I use the young again potion). - I made a choice to play out the lives of the story made Sims, so far Don and Cassandra did get married, they have about six kids, three oldest boys(DJ, Carlos and Latham) are at Sims University, one teen son (Roland), two young kids boy and a girl (Antonio and Isabella) and a toddler girl Ava. Of course Don has other children from cheating on Cassandra, one with Kaylynn who is married to Daniel, a daughter Danielle (who Daniel thinks is his) and another son with Nina Caliente, Dino.
Also Dina nabbed Mortimer, and they have three children, Morty, Micheal, and a daughter Nyrobi.
I also moved Bella back to Pleasantview, made her and elder, she lives with Cassandra and Don and helps raise her grandkids.
Brandy remarried a townie, they have three children. Beau is at Sims University, Dustin graduated college and he and Angela are engaged.
Darren remarried a townie, Cara they have two daughters, Ciara and Darrah.
I ressurrected Darla, she adopted a daughter, Emmy who is at Sims University, Darren graduated College and moved in with his Mom, he and Lilith still date, but nothing serious.
Mary Sue remarried, she now has two sons and another daughter.
I like it so far, kind of want to see how the next generation will turn out. Lol
