What do you do with old sims?

If you don't have the MC Command center mod you can get that to increase the number of household members. then you can either have them live there, or build a retirement home for them to all move into.

You could download a retirement home from the gallery. I have some of my elders living with their families and some in the retirement home on Windenburg countryside. They all have their own rooms with plenty of common space. It could be fun to take them for a trip to Granite Falls, though I may not a have a cabin that's big enough.

Build a Senior Residence Home and place them there. Might be fun to see them play out their days, cards, Don't Wake the Llama, chess. Storyline could be they've developed a debilitating disease (Parkinson's Disease) or Alzheimer's, or Dementia, which is equally bad on some levels. And that their children can't be there full time to watch over them.

Yea I have been thinking the same thing. I had debated on putting them in a retirement home together. The idea for the games sounds good. I was just going to leave them be,only move them over when I was ready for them to die as I have ageing on for unplayed households.

Whenever I have aging on for unplayed houses, people always die and don't get replaced properly. :(

Mine don't always.. but I tend to make my own townies when this happens. But try not to get too attached to them as they end up joining my rotation! :D

@GalacticGal That’s a great idea- I’ve moved old people into a retirement home before but never bothered to play them out. I might change their personality traits (insane or childish) and their poor families have to watch as a disease changes the elder sim :’(

I pack them into a retirement home if I have the room and let them die off live the rest of their elderly lives in.

I usually keep them in the household as baby sitters/cooks/maid lol. They're (supposedly) supposed to keep pets happy too, but that doesn't really seem to work as they don't really interact, unfortunately.

I love playing retirement homes! I fill them with with fun stuff to do - instruments, games, hot tubs, aquariums, etc. and see if I can get the household running "smoothly."

In one of my saves I had a retirement home I was playing for a long time. The owner stayed an adult through the use of youth potions, but the rest were elders and aging was kept on. As the elders died, she had to befriend new elders and invite them to join the household to keep funds rolling in, as none of the residents were allowed to keep jobs and the weekly bills were high.

Then I added a twist - the elders could stay living there indefinitely, but they had to earn their potions of youth without getting jobs... OR... they could make wishes to the Wishing Well. That kept things interesting.

Then the game added its own twist. An elder was on the brink of death, at the "bubbling" stage. He'd had his life extended a few days with the Wishing Well but was probably due to keel over soon... until he got abducted by aliens AND got pregnant!! So then the retirement home had a little alien baby too.

Put them all in a Senior home and then have them all go to the jungle for a "last hurrah" vacation and treasure hunt. See who survives to live the rest of their lives with riches. Put their findings in a separate section of the museum to dedicate to the things they accomplished in life so that their legacy lives on after they are gone. Their great-grandchildren can visit the museum and see the rare and wondrous things that were brought back by their family. Maybe one of those valuable items can be left to a grandchild and passed down through the generations as a family heirloom.
