What does convert 5 Sims into Full Grown Vampires mean

I was just wondering about the vampire family aspiration. Carl's Guide says that you have to train 3 offspring. As I saw in another discussion, the offspring probably means sims my vampire has turned ...

Thanks. Yes, I think my vampire already has the power to turn other sims (anyway, she'll be a grand master vampire by the time she's done with her current aspiration). It was just expressed kind of strangely :)
