- From what I have read online, Romani are not Romanian, people from Romania are.... Romanian. Romani are ancient immigrants from India. So if they are Romani that would indirectly make them of Indian descent.

You could be right. I know some Romanians who have told me the differences, but I got the term mixed up in the last comment (does not change my point tho). Thanks for the info.- susuwara8 years agoRising Adventurer@sunblond @FallenPrince @littlemissgogo @SimKeats @OEII1001
Thanks for the info guys!
I wasn't sure because I've read a few times on how g/ypsy is considered a slur (but I don't know if it's dependent on context or not. And since I'm not of that descent, I ain't going to comment/use it lol!) But I did read a few times of them being of Romani heritage. - Vatore comes from SalVATORE. Brothers Salvatore in TVD were of Italian descend, so Caleb and Lilith are probably of Italian descent as well.
Caleb is Stephan. Lilith is Damon. Caleb is good. Lilith is bad.
The earth is round (-ish). The sky is blue. The grass is green. - If Caleb is so good then why is his haircut so goofy? Hm?

Interesting enough, in TVD, Damon spends quite some time roasting Stephan for his hairstyle.- I was thinking Romanian as well. That's the country most associated with the vampire myths, and the twins' names and looks make sense for them being Romanian. I see a lot of you saying it sounds Italian to you, but Romanian is part of the same language group as Italian (latin languages) and sounds very similar.
The Roma people on the other hand have a completely different language that sounds more like hindi or other modern indian languages. So if the siblings were supposed to be of Roma origin, I think their names would have sounded quite different. - Nindigo798 years agoSeasoned AceUnless EA suddenly comes forward and announces the idea behind the Vatore siblings, I assume it is up to personal interpretation. As far as I know, vampires and similar beings can be found in the folklore of most cultures. There is no reason to turn the thread into a battle of who is right :)
The name itself is the only thing we can try and research. Personally, I don't believe that EA would go out of their way to find a very obscure name with a very obscure meaning for Sim characters. They are known to make easter eggs: references to something popular here and there. Thus I stand by my original post - that it's a play on the popular Vampire Diaries family, Salvatore. Caleb and Lilith themselves are pale because they are vampires, but they don't like they are genetically related at all - perhaps they are only siblings as in having the same master - as vampires? Indeed, I believe they are actually a mixture of several of the most popular vampire interpretations.
It's all just speculation and everyone's guess is as good as the other's. Cheers! "SimKeats;d-922297" wrote:
I was looking up their surname and it seems to be from India, anyone have insight on this?
Maybe it was made up and actually be Salvatore.- I would have thought German, but since everyone is saying Italian..
