- moderateosprey5 years agoSeasoned AceI am running the game on a desktop - aging i7 CPU, Nvidia 1060 6GB video card driving a 4K TV in native resolution.
CPU fluctuates between 14% to 25%. GPU about 35% with an odd peak about 70%
The game seems to slow and drags more the longer it is running. I restart about every 3 hours - HaneulFier5 years agoSeasoned Ace

Interesting. Can you share what your Temps and CPU usage percentage are? - SEREFRAS5 years agoLegend@LaBlue0314, I can so relate to you. I too am going through hot flashes, however, I so don't miss my pms. Lol
As for my computer, I have an 8 year old HP Desktop that works mostly except for my sound, unfortately it wasn't the software.
My TB memory is still good with all my Sims 4 packs & my Civilization VI game packs. I to make sure I have a fan close to my PC for when my place gets to over 26C. I so wish that Best Buy would finally open up their doors so I can finally take my PC box to get a new sound chip installed. So for now my poor PC will have to stay mute for awhile longer. - NateWhiplash5 years agoSeasoned Ace

They would have to replace the entire motherboard to do that. Why not just buy a sound card? They're cheap, and easy to install "Nate_Whiplash1;d-992295" wrote:
My last desktop ran super hot while playing TS4. Well, a couple of days ago I bought myself a gaming desktop. It has a GeForce GTX 2060 with 6 GB and an Intel i7 10700F, and even with that big boost in hardware, TS4 will make all of the fans crank up to high speed. Even the glass side panel is pretty warm to the touch. Why?
I've got a 9th-gen i7 but an RTX 2060 and 16GB of system RAM. Sims 4 still sends it into Leaf Blower Mode, which most of my games don't do. Only really poorly optimized games (like Mount&Blade Bannerlord, which has the excuse of still being in Early Access, or Civilization 5, which despite being 10 years old will use all the CPU horsepower you can give it no matter how beefy the computer) are worse about it."ModerateOsprey;c-17946597" wrote:

Also this. Dunno if it's a memory leak or just the game loading more and more stuff as you play until it overloads itself (which has broken every Sims game since the first one!), but you really do need to force the game to go "empty its bladder" with a quit-and-restart.- GalacticGal5 years agoLegend

I play on a gaming rig that has vents on the sides. I've never noticed it getting too hot. Your computer may have collected some dust. Use the compressed air on it at least once a month. - crocobaura5 years agoLegendYou also need to check that you have enough space around your computer for the air to circulate, don't cover the fan vents or put it too close to a wall or shelf or on a surface that accumulates heat.
- mcrudd5 years agoLegendI think it depends on the computer. I had bought a Predator a while back and it heated so badly that the keyboard was hot to the touch, now this was supposed to be a good gaming laptop, I returned it and got an Alienware instead and have literally never had it run hot at all. I can play all day long and it remains cool even on hot days. Only thing I did notice is that the battery power is not that long if I unplug it, with sims on it will run 4/5 hours max, but as soon as I exit sims and have normal computer running then it says battery will last much longer.
- NateWhiplash5 years agoSeasoned AceIt's a gaming computer that isn't even a week old, and it has plenty of space/ventilation on all sides. My last desktop (non-gaming) also ran hot while playing TS4
