- KittybassNew SpectatorIt was a toss up between vampires and werewolves but I had a think about it. I think vampires are because of level 3 influence emotion. I never needed mods to enhance their powers or abilities like I did with other occults. You overcome burning up in the sun by taking sun resistance, so they might be fragile at first but if you make them sun resistant then nothing gets in their way. If you want to get a room full of sims in a flirty mood, just fire off that emotional influence. Or if you want a room full of sims to drop from cardiac explosion, same thing. I often wondered why they were the only occult with the ability to actually kill other sims. Without mods, non of the other occults have any kind of ability. So I guess that's why I voted vampires.
I find werewolves rather fun, but I think the vampires have them beat with the range of abilities they have. - Kyr0eNew SpectatorYou're asking simple questions for nuanced answers, and one answer for what seems like 3 questions. I'm not going to pick one, simply because there's no one answer to 3 different questions.
Most useful? In what situation?
Useful to everyone else: Spellcasters. They have ways to pretty much cheat anything they like, save a few.
Useful to themselves: Vampires. Bladder and Energy are changed into one need that can be made even easier to replenish. They can rid themselves of Social, Hygiene, and Fun. Thirst can be awful, but if they drop low, they'll automatically seek to replenish it (Not to mention 'Drain Life Spirit', which replenishes it fully).
Hardest to kill?
Simplest answer would be ghosts. They're more a "lifestage", than a "lifestate", and all lifestates have ghosts (besides Servos and skeletons).
Hardest/easiest on other sims in what context?
Do you mean to kill, based on abilities? That comes down to what a person has access to.
If they have access to an urn, then ghosts become tremendously easy.
In that case, then perhaps a werewolf (if their immortality grants death immunity, then only by cure would they be killable) or a vampire (who can be killed without being cured, but are less prone than mortal sims).
If a werewolf isn't death immune, then a vampire is the hardest. - LiELFSeasoned VeteranI can't even express how happy it makes me to finally see Werewolves on a poll list. ❤️

I don't know how strong a werewolf with 10 fitness, an energised moodlet, the right lunar phase, a garlic braid, and rampage on would be vs. a vampire with the same moodlet, fitness skill, Child Of The Moon rank 3, and Vampiric Strength rank 3. Either of the two would still trounce any other lifestate.
If we're talking a fight wherein both can be preemptive, then vampires have the edge due to various forms of mental manipulation.
I have heard it's death immune, but I tend not to take what isn't thoroughly tested as fact unless I'm the one testing it. Thus, I do not know."Humility925;c-18137594" wrote:
I'm sorry about too many question, I tried get many question into one, more or less.
I tried to at least narrow it down on each question, but as I said, it's a lot more nuanced based on the present variables. - As in love I am with Werewolves, I think Vampires still take the cake. The fact that they're the only occult that can directly kill, and in great numbers (make all nearby Sims in a club/bar get incredibly mad, for example), other Sims and remove most of the drawbacks to being a Vampire takes the cake for me.
- Spellcasters with Potion of Plentiful Needs are an unstoppable force. Curses aren't nearly frequent enough to not use Potion of Plentiful Needs as often as you want. This lets you power level through Spellcaster ranks and fulfills aspirations that get you the potion of youth to keep you young longer. I actually self-impose rules on spellcasters - if they get cursed, they have to keep it until their next birthday. It's about the only way to have a challenge for a Spellcaster. They're neat characters though and I enjoy them.
- atreya33Seasoned VeteranSpellcasters because they
- Have only weaknesses which are easy to manage. They rarely get curses and those are easy to get rid. You have to actively try to get them killed by overload.
- perks to eliminate their weaknesses instead of getting more weaknesses as they climb in rank. Hex proof eliminates curses altogether. They can make spells always succeed with Practiced Practicality, Mischief Master andTame The Untameable.
- their potions can be used by other sims.
- they can use their powers to get rich very quickly (burgliate and copy pasto)
- they can make the ridiculously cheap potion of plentiful needs and then copy pasto it over and over
- it is very easy to become a spellcaster. The secret portal is hardly secret and the 'quest' you need to complete is absurdly short. No waiting time like vampires or werewolves. And no effort to become human again either. Just one simple question to a sage.
Spellcasters are basically the most powerful because they are overpowered and not as balanced as the other two in depth occult, werewolves and vampires. I really enjoy playing spellcasters but I intentionally limit the perks they can use and use a mod to make the potion of plentiful needs less powerful.
To be honest I am not that interested in who is the most powerful occult. I just want them to be interesting and fun to play.
Spellcasters are my favourite because they are so magical and whimsical. I am also very happy that they are called spellcasters and not witches. It feels more neutral that way. I also enjoy playing werewolves and mermaids and occasionally even aliens. - Kimmer_oneRising TravelerI'm a "vampire person" and I can't answer anything else. B)
- EgonVMSeasoned AceHmm... That is a difficult question... Here's my answer.
Ghosts... They are already dead. They can't die, but this time they also can't have children. They won't age at all. This means that it's more tragic when a child or teen dies because they are doomed to go to school forever. Resurrection is... it depends. If you only have the base game, the ambrosia or book of life are your options. Both are hard to get. Some DLC make it easier. For example, with Romantic Garden stuff, ghosts can wish for life. The only way beyond being a ghost is... being deleted...
Still, they have usual needs. They need to sleep, eat, and use the bathroom. Plus they are as strong as they were when they were alive. With this, I wouldn't say they are.
Aliens, they have the usual sims struggles but they can use some special alien powers. Still, not powerful...
Vampires, now here we are. They are immune to a lot of deaths (starvation, emotional deaths, pufferfish, drowning (unless they're pulled underwater) etc). They are also immune to temperatures (even before teen stage). Plus their aging is stopped, so they age until they are young adults and then stay that way (giving death flower scented arrangements will age them up, but won't kill elder vampires). They do have one weakness: sun. Before they can get the sunlight resistance, they can die by sunlight. However, if they have this resistance, that's another death off the list.
The powers mainly give them a upper hand. Plus they can literally stop hygiene, social, and fun needs. And they don't need to use the toilet. Besides that, they will still need a house, especially if they don't have sunlight resistance.
The cure is simple to learn: just get the vampire lore skill to level 15. Other sims can "slay" vampires by fighting them and throwing the cure at them. Besides that, vampires are pretty powerful.
Mermaids... They are immune to pufferfish death and drowning. They can literally live on water without needing a house. The powers mostly affect other sims. The cure is eating two mermaid kelps in a row, which can be either found of bought from the rewards store. So, not very powerful.
Spellcasters can make their life simple with magic. Fill needs, copy things, grow plants, create food, resurrect ghosts... The risk of making too much magic is overcharge, which can lead to death if it happens repeatedly. They do age, but they can create the potion of immortality not only for themselves, but for other sims. However, they will still age. Just they can't die by old age. As far as I know, there are no deaths that are excluded for spellcasters. Cure is simply asking the sage to take the powers away. So, they're powerful. Plus spellcaster children will get bloodline traits, which will become stronger with next generation (unless the child isn't a spellcaster). Then they're more powerful.
Servos don't age and are immune to so many deaths. However, there are few deaths available to them (like cowplant) and if they break down and aren't fixed for a long time, they'll have a catastrophic meltdown and die. When a servo dies, they don't become a ghost, but instead they get deleted, so oof. And unfortunately, water (rain and swimming) is their weakness, making them break down faster. Other than that, powerful.
Werewolves, the new life state, so I don't have a lot of knowledge about them. But here's what I know.
While werewolves will have an advantage in fights, it is possible for a regular sim to defeat a werewolf in a fight. Plus most of the deaths are available to them (the one exclusion I know is death by anger). When a sim gets the cursed bite, they may easily die by stavation. They can get the power to become immortal though. Powers also help werewolves not need a house as they can fulfill their needs anywhere.
So, pretty powerful. If werewolves have children, they may either be as powerful, more powerful, or just a normal sim.
So then, in my opinion, which of them is the most powerful.
I have to say that due to being immune to a lot of deaths, it has to be vampires. Werewolves and spellcasters are also really powerful. - KittybassNew SpectatorI do play a lot of spellcasters, especially in large households where their practical magic is incredibly useful. I'm having a lot of fun with werewolves. My first impression with the werewolves was how other sims cowered in fear around them. I thought that was quite powerful in that way. I'm not sure I'd want a werewolf in every household, nor would I want a vampire in every household, but spellcasters are always handy.
So I'll say that modless, spellcasters are the most useful, but vampires are the most powerful.
