Open world ofc, why would they even have excluded this feature after TS3?
Open World is never coming for TS4. The game wasn't designed for it.
Of course not, missing still regardless
It seems a lot of features might never come.
I mean we don't even have proper elevaters , spirals staircases, pool loungers.
These might still come.
I mean curved stairs came in the last EP for TS2. Elevators though, perhaps not. If they did I wish they'd replace/update all of the ones that came with CL. "PlayerSinger2010;c-17075990" wrote:
I'd love to see newspapers back. I'm an occult player but I LOVED how newspapers were in TS3 with the coupons, the news, and happenings around the neighborhood.
"yes we need some kind of online thing like that- GrumpyGlowfishSeasoned Newcomer- Normal-sized / smaller versions of huge base game objects such as telescopes, microscopes, and pianos. There's an upright wooden piano in Get Famous that would be much easier to place in living rooms, if only it wasn't just decoration.
- More activities that don't require modern technology. It's fine that you can write books on the computer, but there should be an option to do it by hand for old-fashioned or technology-averse sims. (There's a mod for that, but it's buggy.)
- More activities in general for children. I'm not saying they need more exclusive features, they already have enough of those, but why can't they paint, write books, or do a little gardening? I did all of that as a child.
- Pond tool.
- Normal careers such as construction worker, lawyer, teacher (although that one will probably introduced with a future education / uni pack), and all the things teens can do, but for adults.
- Burglar, police, and fire fighter NPCs.
- Probably an unpopular opinion, but more household chores such as making beds, and laundry should have been a base game feature. No point in having a maid other than showing off that you're rich enough to afford one, when there's barely anything to do around the house.
- Having to actually buy new clothes rather than just going into CAS and picking out something new. I guess it would be annoying to change that now, after almost five years, but you'd think since Get To Work was the very first EP, the developers would have foreseen that the clothing stores from that pack would turn out completely useless if you can just have everything for free.
- Buying stuff in general is just way too simple for my taste. You click on a computer or a shelf or a flower pot (whatever you want to buy) to order something, and it immediately spawns in your sim's inventory. I liked how you had to buy groceries in TS2, and when you did, an actual delivery person came to your house to deliver them a few minutes later, rather than your fridge magically filling up.
- The ability to bake pizza yourself instead of ordering being the only option.
- Zodiac signs. - MidnightAura86New SpectatorFear
Consequences and depth
Fire fighters
Burglars
Doorbells
Newspapers - atreya33Seasoned AceWhen we it comes to the base game, I wish it included
- a normal sized telescope, microscope and cupcake machine. An upright piano would be welcome too.
- the ability to carry a baby and give them a bath
- doing groceries. I really liked this in sims 2 and it annoyes me food just appears out of nowhere in the fridge.
- buying new clothes, whether it's in a store or at a dresser, I don't mind. But it should not be free.
- npc's like policemen and burglars but also food delivery that is not pizza, for example order in Chinese.
- a way to set up preferences in CAS like favorite food and music.
This would be my base game list but what I miss more than all of these is a few more packs (EP or GP) with supernaturals. "leetamme;c-17091025" wrote:
A simple diving board for the pool.
Yes I wish for this to. the sims 4 as a habit of turning basic base game missing features in to its packs.- I just got to add my own piece here as well. I feel what's missing most isn't new content, but a better working existing system.
Better/smarter behavior is a big one that I would really like to see fixed up. - @Atreya33 - For real, the telescope and microscope are enormous. They’re an eyesore. It’s pretty ridiculous.
- More NPCs (Firemen, police, burglars, social bunny)
- More romance interactions (slow dancing)
- Spiral staircases.
- Roommates.
- Newspapers.
- Cars.
- Open world.
- More baby interactions. Heck, even Sims Freeplay has more options for babies than Sims 4 does.
- CRIBS. ‘Nuff said.
- Did I mention cribs? CRIBS!
- More detail. In Sims 3 your sim could occasionally choke on their food while eating, which I thought was pretty funny.
- GROCERIES!!!!!!! I don’t like that your sim can cook whatever they want, whenever they want, without the ingredients. Just ruins the realism.
- Favorite things (colors, food, music genre)
- Star signs. Even though they don’t really do much.
- Online dating, if anyone remembers this feature.
- Create a style!
- Attraction system.
- More. Traits.
- DOORBELLS!!!!!!!
- Better, more dangerous career chance cards.
- Weather. I know this was added as an expansion pack but it should be in the base game.
- Graveyards. I don’t want to bury Granny in the backyard. -_-
That’s all I can think of.- More NPCs (Firemen, police, burglars, social bunny)

Thx for reminding :(
I'm fairly sure the big open world was mostly responsible for the awful performance issues that the Sims 3 constantly had.
As much I would like to see it added in TS4 or future iterations of the game it's not something I'm willing to sacrifice good performance for. If having a game that runs smoothly means it has to have loading screens then I'd rather have the loading screens.
