For storytelling purposes I have a large lot I need to have burn down. It's a 40x30 and the building is multistory and takes up most of the lot. So there is a lot I need to set on fire. What's the best way to make that happen? I'm the world's worst search engine user. I've tried here and Google and all I get is how to increase the chance of fire, turn fire off completely, or how to kill a sim with fire. I'm not looking to kill a sim with it, but I will be using a throwaway townie if I need to risk a sim's life to accomplish this. I'm a benevolent goddess to my favored and useful sims, but it doesn't pay to be a random townie in my worlds. I'm looking for the entire lot to burn down if possible or at least have significant damage that would plausibly call for tearing it down. I did read that electronics and grills will make the fire spread so I can always load up the lot with those items if that helps. I'm just lacking a quick trigger for the fire. You could say I'm looking for the matches and gasoline.😈

If you have realm of magic, you can learn the inferniate spell and have your spellcaster start fire by casting the spell. There is also a perk to cast spells at a distance, that way your sim doesn't even need to be close by.

Thank you both! I never thought about the fireworks but I forgot about inferniate. Now I’m thinking I need to load the lot up with fireworks then inferniate it. I’m sure if I look around in manage households I’ll find a townie that I can cheat to make a spellcaster. If they die they die, but it will be a spectacular death. Ooo!? Ahh!?

City living fireworks ? place them a lot since sometimes nearby things won’t catch on fire. Then..watch the fireworks ?? also watch out for your sim won’t burn alive ?
Edit: if you place rugs around fire should catch and spread quickly

I’ve placed fireworks on every single tile in a living room(about 50?)and had things that’s are flammable around so it would catch on. It was a fun day

Your sim will get singed and all dirty, so I only kept cheating to reset them and teleport cheat to get them to a safe distance once it began. Looking forward to the pictures

I tried a few different ideas and they all worked up to a point. The lot I'm trying to burn down is too large and it would take forever to decorate it for maximum flammability or I would need an army of spellcasters to burn it down. It would easier and more effective on a small crowded lot. I may postpone this storyline while I put together a lot in my spare time that I can burn down.

The whole time I was searching Google I was thinking I hope nobody looks at my browser history. It would be really awkward trying to explain why I was wanting to know how to burn a house down.?

I do think it’s possible to burn down a big lot but it would be time consuming to setup and I’m up against a bit of a deadline to get the story ready for my readers. That’s the problem with getting wild ideas at the last second.
